Will somebody please tell me - with the Apple case, what is that little flappy thing for? I like to be able to stand it up, but it seems wobbly, but maybe I'm not doing it right?

you stuck it in to lock ipad in. I agree that landscape stand is not sturdy at all.

if you lay on bed and want apple case to stand on your belly/chest, it is imposible. Incase is better since it provides the level foundation itself.

but I think I'll keep apple case since it is thin, cheaper, and hold ipad tight with no gap between screen and the case edge.

i was getting a incase case, but since the griffin cases now are out, im getting that one instead, i just wish theye would post more pics of the insides of the cases before i order one:/

Oh! Silly me, so it's not supposed to flap about. I just tucked it in and all is well. This case is growing on me, I was having doubts. On a flat level surface, I have not worry about stability. Thank you my friend, much obliged!

I wasn't interested in the Apple Case one bit until I was in the store on Saturday. It has a really nice feel to it.

Setting it around the house, I feel much more comfortable with it in the case and the angle can come in handy.

I really like how it looks outside the case though and it wont dock when in the case so who knows... I'm torn. :)

Just put an order in for the Quirky Cloak. The $20 deal is awesome. I have both the Apple case and the Incase Convertible. Initially I was turned off by the Apple case, but after using the Incase, I've decided to keep the Apple case for now.

Here are some pictures of the cases:
http://picasaweb.google.com/adam.miarka/AppleIPadCaseVsIncaseConvertible?feat=directlink

The last pic does not have the iPad in the Apple case, but you can see the bulk difference of the two. Of note, I also didn't like the fact that the Incase does not lock into position and relys on the weight of the iPad. Has the potential to slip around. When holding it on my lap, the iPad would also slip down out of the case.

Can't wait for the Cloak to ship!

Thanks for posting those pics of the Incase convertible case. I am really leaning towards it. I kinda want to keep my Apple case but I've spent $39.99 on the Incase Neoprene Sleeve Plus, $39.99 on the Apple case and it'd be nuts to spend another $59.99 on the Incase convertible case. So my choice is either keep the Apple case or take it back along with the dock (I think I'm taking the dock back no matter what) and get the Incase convertible.

I have one important question about the Incase convertible, I know the different angles don't "lock" in like the official Apple case but are they stable enough to type without it falling down? I like angling the Apple case and setting it on my lap to type in Pages. Can I do that with the Incase and not have it collapse on me? Thanks.

If you gave the Incase set on a sturdy surface (table, desk, etc.), then you will be find to type. I was having issues with the angle moving as I type while sitting on the couch....as I'm doing now with the Apple case. :D

I am returning my "official" Apple case asap. It is horrible! I use the incase neoprene sleeve. Not sure about this whole stand thing. I like to hold my iPad.:D

See I have the Apple case and I want the neoprene sleeve as a way to compliment it. I like the whole stand aspect of the Apple case and I also like the look of it. Looks sharp to me. Plus it gives the iPad a different feel when I'm taking it out. The neoprene sleeve is like when I just feel like jetting out the door and I need something to throw it in. Will probably include a microfiber cloth with that as well.

the balance

Just got the Incase and folks are overstating "issue" with it not locking into the options. In fact. While laying down the balance is so good you can park it on yourself not even in the official slot position and it remains stable. Breathe at will.

The design is very well done. The fit is tight but not too tight. I don't see it slipping out of the case either. (If it seemed even possible you can flip it over and that's that. As the iPad rotates, it's your choice.)

The Incase and stand choices stand alone. You wouldn't want or need a sleeve for it. It's an all in one solution. the usability of the iPad in this case really shines. I've even put it on my magazine rack on my indoor bike. It fits perfectly there in either landscape or portrait but landscape is best.

Hear many folks talking about returning the dock. Seems like a trend.

Hmm, I dunno, I guess the only way for me to find out if I like it is if I go to the Apple store and check it out for myself. Do you think if I take my iPad in with me they'll let me try out the case in the store before I buy it? If I do like it I need to return the Apple case so I'll either have to bring the Apple case in with me or leave it in my car while I check out the Incase convertible then run out and get it if I like the Incase more.

The dock just isn't as good as I was expecting, for one, I thought I'd be able to leave the Apple case on and still be able to use the dock (it is a chore getting the iPad out of the Apple case) and even when I put the iPad in the dock by itself, its kinda hard to get it out of the dock since there isn't really anywhere to grab to get leverage to pull it apart.

I reordered the apple case and went to the apple store today and they had it in stock. I bought it in the store and cancelled my pre order. I like it. I had reservations about it but it feels just right to me.

Right now I have a incase slide in case. My apple case should be delivered tomorrow to my house. So I will try that out also and whichever one I end up liking better. I'll return the other.

I can't stand cases.

I mean I get their purpose but they completely ruin the device for me. You have this beautiful pice of aluminum and glass and the you go cover it in a bully case...might as well the iPad was made of plastic, you wouldn't know the difference.

I can see it for holding up the device, I could use it for that but I could never use it full time.

I am looking at that Invishield product for the back of the iPad...has anyone ever used one? Is it almost 100% transparent?

if you lay on your bed, which case can stand on your belly? apple case can't stand and it need level and solid surface.

anyone enjoy reading while laying on your bed?

I use my iPad almost exclusively in bed and either rest it against my thighs when my legs are bent at the knees...or I put a pillow on my stomach and lean it against that or put a pillow on the bed next to me and lean it against that.

Good workaround and an extra pillow should be available to grap.

But when it is hot, having a pillow on top is not very comforting

I didn't think I'd like the Apple case until I actually saw one. Very cool. I was able to find one at the UWS store in NYC. Man they sell out fast!

And yes, pillows work great.

That too

Incase convertible. Bloody perfect: lap on chair, couch, bed and yes right on waist. Balance so good like it's not even there.

As in right now. :

Originally bought the Apple case. Tried it out a couple of days and my iPad kept falling over in Landscape fold. I decided to get the incase case and it was sold out in 3 Apple stores. They said they can't keep them in stock. I called a 4th store and they said they just got some in because they sold out of the over the weekend. I love the multiple viewing positions and it is so sturdy, there's no way it's falling over like the Apple case did. I know it's bigger and more book-like, but I really like its functionality and faux leather feel. I also like how easily it fit into the case and it's easy to remove if I want to use a different less bulky case when I need to. Overall, this is the best case/stand I have seen.

So, thanks to who ever suggested this case because it's EXACTLY what I needed. :D

uhm....

I bought the convertible case with my girlfriend and returned it because I didn't like it. The apple case is way better.

and why? This sounds like the old my dad is better than your dad argument.
Really why even hit the keyboard with that?

My dad is better/stronger/tougher. Zero reasons why. Yes, I'm nine.
