I have Siri now on iPad& iPhone, so i can relax until the next beta release

My iPhone Air is stuck at 95% after more than a week. Definitely a bug I hope it will be solved with beta 2 next week.
My iPhone 17 Pro and iPad Pro 13" M5 are also both stuck at 95%. Some kind of bug. Let's hope that Beta 2 can help. Doesn't seem to have major impact on performance or battery.

I’m on the opposite side of things. I updated my iPhone 17 to iOS 27 on Sunday night, and over the following days I kept checking for the “Indexing in Progress” message, but it never appeared. It’s now Thursday and I still haven’t seen it.

I’m wondering if the indexing process completed very quickly in my case, maybe overnight between Sunday and Monday.

For what it’s worth, I’m still on the waitlist for the new Siri.

Anyone else in the same boat?

I wouldn’t do MagSafe charging… it keeps the phone hot which probably starts and stops background processing frequently
I’m not worried about the heat, I am worried that perhaps the Standby mode is not allowing for background indexing. But I’ve just been proven wrong with that as well.
I tried plugging in overnight and same result. Stuck at 45%. Definitely a head scratcher.

If the phone gets to hot, it’ll stop all background tasks until it cools down.

It took my phone (iPhone 15 Pro Max) a few days to show the indexing message when I updated last Thursday. Says I'm at 95% at the moment. No new siri yet.

It's a very cool room, with a fan running constantly. There's no way the phone is getting too hot, and staying hot all night long. Either there's a bug in the reporting, or the indexing is somehow stuck.

I’m also experiencing indexing issue with iPhone 17 pro

Yesterday, when I checked the indexing progress, it was at 92%. Since then, my iPhone has remained plugged in overnight and has continued to stay plugged in throughout the day. However, after approximately 24 hours, the indexing progress still shows 92% with no apparent movement.

Yup +1 for me

iPhone Air, upgraded last night, went without a hitch, but never got the Indexing message and still don't see it

Folks saying that are at x% on the Indexing Process...where are you finding that percentage? My iPhone 15 Pro is still indexing since I installed the beta on 6/8 (10 days and counting). Just curious. TIA!

I'm kinda curious if one were to make sure the iPhone is completely backed up, restart the phone using the new DFU mode, then restore.. whether or not that would fix the indexing problem.. has anyone tried something like this?

I've been at 95% for three days, doesn't move. It's stuck

I did that. Indexing endlessly.

Mine is still indexing, and I don't know what percentage it's at since I use Windows. But I think the indexing has somehow improved the Magic Eraser function. On the first full day of using the beta, I tried to erase a baby stroller behind my mother and nephews, and the result was very bad, almost as bad as what we had in iOS 26. I tried it today, and the result was excellent.
I can't be sure, but I've noticed that in photos where there's a larger field of view captured, it's as if it picks up patterns from those photos to add them when erasing or zooming in on an object. It has reconstructed a photo surprisingly accurately when I zoomed in, hence my assumptions. I don't know if anyone else has noticed something like this; it might just be a coincidence, but it's also possible that the indexing is a kind of local training of the model with your photos and data to optimize and improve it for each individual user.

Nothing to do with indexing. The clean up tool now has a fast and high quality mode (set to auto as default) so any complicated clean ups are processed by private cloud compute server in high quality model which is probably what you got. You’ll know because it’ll take a while and have the yellow bar on the bottom while processing.

I know, both times Automatic was selected, both times the progress bar appeared, and both times I got very different results. The first time it was at the iOS 26 level, and I tried a couple of times in case the model didn't work correctly the first time, but it didn't improve until today when I tried again. Also, this is supposed to work locally on my 17 Pro, and the models are still taking up 18.93GB.

Patience! There is a reason Apple doesnt tell us how to view the progress. This particular Indexing has little to no effect on iPhone performance. So just ignore it, eventually it will finish up.
