Two of my three devices just finished after being started immediately after b1 was released. Both 512GB devices with about 50GB free space, 220,000+ photos, 10,000+ videos, massive iMessage and mail onboard too. I did see progress of 93% for a couple of days but it was still running just fine.

The process is impressive: you never really feel the device is completely reindexing while it’s running. I’d say this is a great implementation of a steady background process designed to be robust and resilient and survive offline, reboots, etc. I’m fairly sure it probably works from most recent data back so for most people they just should not worry about this and relax.

This is Day 11 for me. I downloaded the Beta on Day 2, also joined Siri Waitlist that same day. I have a 15 Pro, and I've been at 99% for, at least, a couple of days. Not sure how long, exactly, because I didn't know until I saw the Console method for checking. Anyway, still at 99% which is...interesting? And have not gotten off the Siri waitlist.

Right? I’d rather not have the notification at all. It’s indexing. Who cares? If they’re not going to use a percentage then why bother? Completely pointless.
Agree.
It is what it is; it has to get done.

It's ridiculous that some people are THAT glued to their phones that they have to monitor stuff like this, which cannot in any way be changed, altered, disabled. 🙄

And if you're like me, who is a working professional who actually runs their business and the rest of their personal life off of your devices, so you truly rely on them in critical ways; then you should know better than to do an update anytime BUT the weekends or holidays.

You should know to do updates late on a Friday so that the device has all Friday night and the entire weekend to index, settle in, and for you to discover & work out any major bugs.

But what do I know....... 🤷‍♂️

The time of the download is irrelevant. It shouldn’t take over a week to index. Especially for a device that stays at home connected to WiFi.

My 17 PM is still indexing after installing B1 a few hours after release 😄

But at least the new Siri works great, and I’ve had that for about a week.

You did hear what Apple has said about the new index system and why it could have up to 2 weeks right ? They have explained this, on top of this being on a developer only beta

Why are there still so many people posting on this tread complaining about how long the new index system takes? When Apple. Other users have shared that it could take upto 2 weeks depending on files, device use etc . Before anyone starts to explain that this is not potentially the final version of the index system as you have all installed a beta one version designed for developers only to start testing and building their AppStore 🙄

My iPad M4 512gb 8Ram started indexing Tuesday 9th
Siri activated Monday 15th
iPhone 17 pro started indexing Tuesday 16th
Siri activated Tuesday 16th (instant after install, so I believe its account related)

iPad is still indexing
iPhone stopped indexing 17th or 18th, as I stopped looking.
