Well good news, I got a replacement for my 3G. Took a while to convince them to replace it but they finally did. They will replace your phone if the max usage they calculate is less than 5 hours. I was at 5 hours and 6 minutes, so he wouldn't replace it but then he noticed a sound bug about the unlock sounds were too faint and so was my speaker phone.
I'm happy now![]()
Thats great, wish me luck, I have an appointment at the Genius bar and need them to explain to me how a 5 minute phone call on a fully battery leaves me with 2/3 rds of a battery.
I have noticed that I haven't been getting the "phone has been plugged in" message. You know if your phone is at say 60% and you plug it in for 30 mins or so then it would say that it had been plugged in but it no longer does this. Is this a normal 3.1 thing or is there something weird going on with my phone.
experienced this battery issue right after iPhone 3.1 update, so i decided to restore as new phone this morning and use it without changing anything, didn't even add email accounts or applications and still experiencing same issues.
At this time my phone is practically unusable what so ever! tried turning off and on, clearing all settings, etc etc with no luck. Any tips or help would be appreciated
32GB iPhone 3GS
I beg to differ...especially after sitting overnight and through most of the next morning on idle ( If I remember right, that particular battery cycle was mostly spent playing games, surfing safari, and a little facebook and myspace). From what Ive seen since I joined macrumors, I'd say thats pretty decent compared to others complaints of crappy battery life.
It would be in the Usage section, Where it shows Usage and Stand By if you plugged the iPhone in for a short time without it fully charging the phone back up it would tell you that the iPhone had been plugged in since it's last full charge(thus keeping it from showing inflated usage numbers). I haven't seen that message since 3.1.Where would it say that your phone has been plugged in? I have no memory of such a message on the iphone![]()
