The OLED model will no doubt be very expensive. But I disagree with people saying it's for people with money to burn. It all depends on the individual.

You could quite easily spend £30/£40 a night going out a drinking couple of times a week. That's not an unreasonable thing to do, lots of people do. And spending money on petrol, car tax, insurance, repairs over the course of the year soon adds up. I don't drink or drive a car, so that money saved easily offsets the cost of a phone that I use for a few hours each & every day for lots of things.

I buy outright each year, have a very good cheap sim only deal and get top money for a well looked after iPhone. I'm not tied to paying £50/£60 a month for 2 years for a base model, I get to upgrade to the top storage plus model. So for me, it's not an unreasonable thing to buy.

If I do upgrade it won't be till early 2018. Don't need to jump on things on the release day. Besides, my 6S is doing everything I NEED a phone for and with iOS 11 it is like having a new phone. If I do switch it will be to the 7S.

Haven't tried out iOS 11 yet but agree with you on the 6s.

Not really tempted to upgrade as my 6s has everything I need in a phone: very fast, great screen, good battery life, and best of all... is completely paid off :D

If the new iPhone ends up costing a ludicrous amount as the rumors suggest then it will be that much less appealing.

Anyone else afraid it will cost $1499? :( thats going to be like 1799 in CDN
It absolutely won’t cost that much. Apple charge high prices for their products, however they understand basic business- and that’d be a disaster. I reckon it will cost $1100 maximum for a starting price. That’s just over $100 higher than the highest 7+ model currently. $100 is enough to make people reconsider buying a 7+ and by the 8/Pro; $500 extra won’t encourage those customers however. Plus, Apple has a consistent three year pricing increase pattern- every three years the price of the highest speced iPhone increases by around $100- we are due another price increase this year. Plus there is a whole market of competition, they cannot justify adding a $700 premium over other phones like the S8.

My estimate:
iPhone 8/Pro - 64GB - $999-$1099
iPhone 8/Pro - 256GB - $1099-$1199

Where do you sell your iPhone? I'm thinking of doing this....
My contract with Vodafone for an iPhone 6s has just ended. Was thinking of doing the Iphone upgrade program but what you're saying makes a lot of sense..
What sim only deal do you have also?

I sell mine each year on www.avforums.com If you're not already a member, be prepared to send the item before getting payment. Or maybe half. People are wary of new members selling high value items.

Currently on a Three 12 month sim only plan. 8gb data (I've never used more than 6gb and that's rare because I mainly use wifi), 600 mins and unlimited texts. £12 a month through Quidco as well as £55 cashback to come from Quidco in a couple of months.

Oh wow
That's an option for me I suppose.
The iPhone upgrade program looks tempting though I must admit!

I'm a little scared about the price of the new iPhone, in rehards to it costing more than I realistically want to spend. However, in saying that, I have budgeted $1800 AUD which I *hope* will be enough. It's the first time I'll be buying outright so I'm looking forward to knowing I own it straight away. I want to upgrade my watch if there is a new one announced, too, so all in all, September is not going to be nice for the hip pocket for me I don't think. In saying that, I have enough income to supplement these purches which is lucky I guess, as it's not something I plan on doing more than once a year.

I am not so sure of that. Last year, Apple hiked up the price of the new MacBook pros by up to a £1000 on the flagship models.

From the rumours and leaks it looks like it will depend on what storage option you want, the 64GB will be the cheapest at $999 and the maximum storage option at 512GB for $1199, personally I may opt for either 64GB or 256 i currently have the 128GB with around 90GB still free. I'm in the same boat as you tho, i also want to upgrade my Apple Watch from the very first one! hoping they will announce new colours materials and some nice little features for the Series 3 Watch.

They weren't much cheaper than £800 last year, I paid £819 for the 7 Plus 128GB. The 7s this year will probably be around the same price, it's the 8/Edition that's going to cost the £1000

I only had the standard iphone 7 last year but even then I felt £600 was overpriced for it!

I know its likely due to inflammation and the UK is in process of leaving Europe but paying £1000 for a phone is not justified id rather kit my kitchen out with white goods or buy a sofa or large 4k tv at that price lol

I will be seeking a alternative on my next phone anyway im not paying £1000 for a darn phone!

You don't have too, the 7s will be announced alongside the iPhone 8/Edition. It's obviously down to how everyone thinks about these kinds of devices, i brought the 7 Plus and personally I don't regret it for a minute for the camera alone i deemed it worth it, where as someone else would not, the same goes for the next iPhone's, some people will deem it worth it while others will not.

Loads of reasonably priced phones in the Android fam too. Phones these days last 2-3 years quite easily so really there is less and less reason to upgrade every year (other than being an enthusiast etc).

I don’t see it as a big deal at all. For me, it will be a few more bucks a month. On a device I use every single day, I’m happy to pay for the best. If you want a cheap phone, there are plenty of options out there, albeit with compromises

Thing with iphone 7 is it doesnt feel like a £600 phone I dont know if its mine or what but the camera indoors doesnt perform well like my iphone 5 could the pictures dont come at good as that old phone did!

Never had a issue with the phone though it just works but the camera is a little let down lol

Yeah I’ve seen that, but then you convert to Australian money PLUS our tax, it’s going up at minimum $350. I have 128 GB and I’m not using even half but I like the option and will definitely stick to 256 GB

That’s where I think I’m at. I use it so often I think the price can be justified.

OLED iPhone/X/Edition will probably cost around A$1,699 I think, the 7+ 256GB is around A$1,569. It may end up costing only A$1,599, but most likely around A$1,600 - A$1,699.

That's what I'm thinking, too. Hopefully not much higher than that :p
