For the people freaking out about the case design; realize what you see pictured WILL NOT be the final design that you will see in Steve's hand at WWDC.

This prototyping process is called 'Flash'.

Another thing that gives these parts away as "NOT-APPLE-PARTS" is the seams... Apple would never make that many seams. Why would Mr. Ive design a case with seams when the rest of the product-line uses their unibody-casings that results in seamless-designs...

that is not the final case design.

I think is the real deal but for some reson I like more one white 3GS...for now...
maybe the final product is going to be entirely unibody!!!!!

I ll wait though

I do like the aluminum part and it seems we have a rear separate plastic part wich can be replaced and gives accsess to the battery!!!!!

i think that the iphone that is shown may just be a prototype. But if you can see the has almost square edges as does the ipad and the new macbooks and macs. I think the next iphone will look similar to the ipads and the macbook pros and macs design. This way the whole apple family will look the same except for the ipods.

The evidence is strongly pointing in the direction of this being legit.
So that being the case. Why are there seams?

Either this is a production prototype waiting for the Unibody production line to start up...

Or ... the seams are an important design element. Perhaps the entire bottom aluminium surface is an antenna?

Both these and the Engadget "OMG IFONE 4GEE PROOF 100% REAL" are so fake, it's insulting to our intelligence. Apple is NOT putting a Micro SD slot in the iPhone, same goes for removable battery and the front-facing camera. Plus, they wouldn't pursue unibody-everything design just to make their flagship product different, that's not how Apple does things. Just because the geeks want something to be true doesn't mean it is.

A unibody would match their existing lineup of laptops. Also, the iPad has a micro SIM slot, not micro SD, therefore it is logical to assume that the iPhone would adopt that standard as well. where did you see micro SD?

There is no Micro SD slot. It's the SIM tray.
There is no removable battery, nor any evidence for one.
A forward-facing camera is likely.

Problem.....

80GB..... Not possible with flash memory....
64GB... Yes!
128GB...Yes!

well....
64GB+32GB=96GB
64GB+16GB=80GB yes but seems really convoluted way of doing it... and really expensive as it would require probably 3 flash memory chips...

Just seems really unlikely, sounds more like a HD size than a flash size...

If I'm right, the one beside the headphone port and the one on the side with the volume buttons is for a user replaceable battery. The other one is just to make it look symmetrical.

Here, I made this photo with how I think it works.

well, hats off to your analyze, coz I think it's 100% true! :D and it's really impressive! and by the way, I'm liking this design more and more with every detail!

To the people that say its fake, or a chinese counterfeit, there was a picture of an ipad posted the night before it was released which showed an ipad in an apple test lab. If you look back at the picture, you'll see this 4g iPhone prototype laying on top of the iPad, and another one off to the right side of the picture shown here: http://www.engadget.com/2010/04/18/iphone-4g-proof/

If it were a chinese knock off, why the hell would apple have them lying around their test lab??

How are the spanish pictures proven fake? And why would ANYONE try to fake a picture... of another possible fake? :)

Why they would do this is anyone's guess.
But I made this image. .

You can see clearly that the Spanish image uses pixels taken from the Engadget article.

you are right. Could this fake "iPhone" that guy is holding be the real thing then?

Ooh, that's actually a really good explanation.

Still, I will be hella disappointed if the thing doesn't have a flash.

This is NOT the next iphone.

Why in gods name would apple go for this design? its not sleek, looks nowhere near as good as the 3G/3GS. It is a step BACK imo.

Apple are good at keeping their stuff secret, why would they have the next iphone laying right next to an ipad for everyone to see? that is not what apple do....

this has to be a prototype, and a bad looking one at that.

If i was a member of the general public and wanted an iphone, saw the 3GS and this '4G' next to each other, I would go for the 3GS hands down, even with less features.

So you are suggesting that you stick a pin in a hole and part of the case opens to reveal a battery?

This might work, but the part of the cast that opens contains the headphone jack, the silent switch and the volume buttons.

If the user could get at the battery, they'd need to slide it out sideways. But the case-less images do not suggest that at all. The lithium ion battery looks like it connects at the bottom.

I am not seeing user-servicable.
But I am puzzled by the seams.

Maybe because Apple never meant for pictures taken in their test lab to be leaked onto the internet....?

The pics this guy found definitely looks like the japanese one but how can anyone be certain that the iphone on top of the ipad in the other pic is the same thing? Its way too blury, could be anything on the top right.

im sure you guys know more than i do about this stuff so I trust your feelings more than mine...but I just dont see how anyone can connect the two in certainty
