Beta 5 is only 60 MB. Likely just a critical security patch. It also fixes a few more of the outstanding bugs in the TV app according to the release notes.

2 Betas in 1 week, they are making up the Thanksgiving week where they were all eating Turkeys.
Probably just getting closer to the final release and making sure to address something critical/important before it goes out.

Working here. And it has the old message thread as well. I looked at items all way back through Aug 2016.

[Edit] Just had a thought, do you have a expire set for keep messages in settings? I have keep messages: set for forever. Maybe that has something to do with it.

What do you mean "with no messages after the beta install date"? That you have not had any message activity since installing the beta Monday?
For the item I searched, yes. I did that intentionally to test the questioner's theory that Search in iMessage could not find messages from before the beta install.

Beta 5 also seems to finally resolve 2 years old Homekit/iCloud bug that was hindering a whole lot of people using Homekit at all while logged in to iCloud (see this thread).

Hallelujah!

Lockscreen bypass and corrupt freezing video from last week is fixed too. Now they should fix that Activation Lock bug found recently too
