Hey folks!
Since it's getting close to 2 weeks that the Beta version has been out, I wanted to ask how everyone's device is holding up?
Is it smooth, a lot of issues.... Any thoughts..?
I'm looking to get the beta on my main device which is a 6S so wanted to check in with everyone first!
Thanks!

I had it installed on a 64GB iPhone 6+ but it was way too buggy to be useable. Constant crashing, Facebook was useless, notifications were super delayed, I got them faster on my iPad then on my iPhone, and one massive bug that drove me crazy would be when someone would call me, and I would hear my iPad ring, but not my iPhone.. SUPER delayed!
Otherwise I thought it was a great update but not usable for a person who heavily uses their iPhone.

Well, it's only been 8 days... not 2 weeks. But no real issues. Some freeze ups here or there, but better than you would expect for Beta 1 of a major release.

Don't try it unless your device is not your critical device.
It is still buggy and slow.
Don't upgrade now. Wait until public beta or even later.

I have an iPhone 6S. It's about a week since I caved in and installed it. To be honest battery life is just as good if you do phone stuff like mail, text, call etc. however when you get to some of the new renovated apps like maps and music, you'll definitely notice a significant battery drain. It seems like those revamped apps haven't been optimized let alone the entire beta. Besides that and a couple of stutters here and there, it is definitely usable. At least for me. This is coming from a college student who almost lived off his phone. :)

Hi,

Further to my last reply to this thread regarding the performance of the beta on my iPad Air 2 (to recap, basically it was fine for daily use for me with the apps I needed), I can now also report on my experiences with the iPad Pro 9.7".

Curiously, although it's still fine for daily use, I'd say that 10.0 Beta 1 is actually a bit choppier and less stable on my Pro than it was on my Air 2. I've had far more re-springs on the Pro than I ever had on the Air 2, and animations and switching between apps feels slower too. Odd, since you'd of course expect the Pro to be generally faster day-to-day, but it appears that Beta 1 at least runs a bit better on an Air 2 than it does a 9.7" Pro.

I've had no serious problems as I say, and am still getting a full day's work done without any issues, but 10.0B1 is definitely not quite as polished an experience on the Pro.

hmm...that is pretty much the opposite of my experience. Sure there are little hiccups here and there, but notifications have been working flawless. I completely agree about Facebook being useless. It works at most for 30 seconds and then crashes.

Thought it ran pretty good at first but over the last few days became slow, unresponsive, and had constant reboots so reverted back to ios9. will reinstall when beta 2 comes out cuz that's how i roll

Love the new features in iOS 10 but it's very buggy and should really be considered an Alpha rather than a Beta. I have an iPhone 6S Plus. Yesterday I tried to make a phone call and when I hit the dial button the iPhone locked up completely for about 15 seconds and I didn't hear anything either. Little did I know the phone call had actually started and the person I called could hear everything I was saying! I was just ready to do a hard reset when the OS came back to life and started jumping around catching up to my home button and screen presses. Also Facebook crashes so bad that its unusable. Words with Friends crashes every time you try to switch to/from the app. I received a phone call this morning and my Apple Watch started ringing before the iPhone which was about 3 seconds behind it.

It's definitely not ready for daily driver use as much as I would love to say yes. So many bugs everywhere and don't get me started on the alarm clock bug.

I had to get rid of iOS 10 beta and downgrade back to iOS 9.3.3 beta 3 which is the fastest iOS 9 version so far. So welcoming the added polish and speed.

However, gotta say I miss the 3D touch messaging replies from the lock screen soooo bad. It's a pretty great implementation that finally makes me want to use 3D touch. Right now on iOS 9 it feels so dated to have to swipe to reply.

Hoping iOS 10 beta 2 next week turns out to be stable enough for daily use! Crossing fingers.

So bizarre; I'm having the opposite reaction to the beta. At first, the beta was "okay" but for some reason over the last few days it's actually gotten more stable for me. I'm loving it!

I only have one device and I have been using it since the second day it was released. Runs pretty damn smooth for me. A few glitches and bugs nothing compared to what some people are experience but then again I don't use Facebook or Instagram etc

and my IMAP mails aren't fetching to the set 15 minute schedule (and before I'm sure they were using IDLE as I was getting pretty near instant notifications of new mails) but nothing that's causing me big issues.

Same, I have it set for 30 min fetch with some gmail accounts and when I go to the mail app its showing last updated like 2 hours ago. It's clearly a bit broken right now.

I was using it as a daily driver and it was terrible. Crashing on lots of apps and just buggy updates and overall usage. Maybe I was an idiot and used the OTA update and not a restore and setup as new phone or restore/restore from back up?

I did an OTA upgrade and am not having any major issues. Some niggles, mainly in the UI and with some things not refreshing properly, but all the main apps work and I've not had one crash. I'm not sure if Mark Zuckerberg secretly loves me or anything but even Facebook hasn't crashed on me once (although I've not uploaded or downloaded any photos).

Let the battery settle out for indexing or whatever other garbage happens. Also keep in mind you're touching it.

I think it's as smooth as 9.3.3 but I had a feeling my 9.3.3 was a little buggy to start with.

Typing in this is a little weird, I currently see the bottom of the page while typing. Haven't tried other websites yet, but this one is doable, even if I can't see what I'm saying.

I have the same problem on my iPad Air.

daily driver here...

no big issues
* once in a while a freeze
* once in a while the entire screen becomes black, then a turning thingie, and then it comes back on the log screen
* turning from portrait to landscape or vice versa on an iPad isn't sometimes working. pulling down notifications and putting it up again does the trick to make it turn :D
* iTunes is very buggy: no shuffle, trying to play songs I havent downloaded, glitch with bluetooth speakers in the car when trying to call someone, can't play the previous song anymore....all the same bugs as last year actually :s

seriously....screw this beta lol

phone app is giving me issues of either being silent on calls or loud static.

also, the battery is tanking bad today. it just went from 100% to 94 in minutes. from 95 to 94 and immediately to 93. basically skipped 94. i watched it count down within seconds.

Edit: beta 10 just borked my phone up and now i need to DFU it back to 9.3.2 ugh!

Multitasking during a call (hands free, if it makes any difference) tends to freeze the UI for 10 seconds or so. The call continues uninterrupted and the UI unsticks after a while.

Outside of a few random re springs, iOS 10 has been just fine for me on my iPhone and iPad. The biggest issue I've found is that the iPad will get stuck in landscape orientation occasionally, and only a reboot will fix it.

I have also experienced the "stuck in landscape mode" on my iPad Mini 4... otherwise, seems solid on the iPad. I never run a beta 1 as a daily driver on my phone - just too many things to go wrong and I need my phone to work.
