I find it funny that the landscape lag on the 6s Plus is finally resolved on this beta build. iOS 10 itself is smooth for a first beta much to my surprise <3 I love the new Raise to Wake and the 3D Touch to reply, the banners seem super huge though in comparison to iOS 9 idk if thats just me.
I agree... the banner notifications seem much larger and more intrusive.

Pasting from macOS Sierra to iOS10 works great (the other way around not yet).

I cannot get Messages to send any of the new style messages. They always say "Not Delivered". As others have said, I've restarted my phone about 10 times (both normal and hard resets) to no avail. Others have said that the recipient must also be running iOS 10 as well. That may be true. I currently have one colleague who I've been sending test messages to but I do not know if he has had a chance to install iOS 10 yet. Anyone know for sure one way or another?

I have an couple issues with iMessage that I haven't seen posted here.

  • None of the new stylized iMessages or drawings work for me. Instead of sending it just instantly says "Not Delivered" and refuses to send.
  • iMessage Quick Reply on the lock screen seems broken:
    • When I hit "reply" on the lock screen, the phone buzzes like a new notification came in even though it is just activating quick reply
    • The screen will go dim as if a new notification came in rather than a quick reply, thus the screen will turn off in the middle of my typing
Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, I have experienced the second one... when a notification from an app comes in on the lock screen, like from GroupMe, and I slide over and hit "reply", after a few seconds of typing a quick reply from the interactive notification the screen will go black. When you wake the device up again, you see the notification for a split second before it goes away and you have to manually open the app to reply.

- Music app: No more ratings when tapping on the cover art.
Did they move star ratings somewhere else, or are they completely removed from iOS? I organize my smart playlists by star ratings. It would really suck if Apple is getting rid of this feature.

Is anyone using on the iPod touch 6? How's the performance and animations? Also, I came across a snapshot of the timer in Clock with a black theme, what's that all about? And finally what are the changes to the camera UI on iPad?

I installed it on my iPod. It's running suprisingly well. I haven't had any springboard or app crashes actually. There's some lag and glitches, especially when trying to use the new features. It's been totally usable so far though.

Is it just me or the text and the emojis in the messages app are all a little fuzzy, not as crisp as usual. I have a 6s.

Has anyone hit issues with WhatsApp or swift key or Swype?

Seeing hangs now after an hour or two where many touch actions don't work and keyboard doesn't pop up with app hung. Could be WhatsApp related but has system wide impact

I've uninstalled my third party keyboards for now
Painful

Music is no longer paused when using the camera on the 6S...should've been that way from the start.

How's the performance on iPhone 5 in general?

Only used it on my 5 for a few minutes. Seems faster than iOS 9. I was surprised. Was VERY HOT when installing but was fine while using phone. Seems similar to performance on iOS 7.

Seeing very jerky animations on 6s+ for the first time (was all good in 9.x for me). Enabled "reduce motion" to mitigate. Example - launching mail, google inbox -- as window expands out it's very jerky. However not all apps show this - lastpass for example didn't seem to.

Doesn't worry me too much for a new beta though...

I'm having the exact same issue. Tried a fresh install. No change. Yet on my iPhone 5 it's smooth.

I remember iOS 9 beta had the same in the beginning. Might be some scaling issue. Would be be interesting to know if this is across the board.

Has anyone noticed that when you send a message with an effect, such as "Gentle" or "Loud", then go back out into the conversation list view in the Messages app, the message preview only says "Message sent with ______ Effect"? Shouldn't it have the actual text of the message sent... wouldn't that be more useful?

I had to turn off Raise to Wake because it seemed like every time I moved my phone the screen came on. I felt like that would drain the battery super fast if it's activated so easily. Maybe there will be a way to control the sensitivity at some point!
