MAn, some of you need to take a look at what 7.0 looked like then take a deep breath. Can't be good for your blood pressure.
Can you tell me what was wrong with iOS 7.0 ?

All I can see is that everything was clean, refined and consistent unlike the crap we have now with iOS 10 and its differents fonts, differents blur effects and huge amount of space wasting.

Seriously, the last point is especially true for the iPad, I can't believe they are doing that while the iPad is supposed to "take advantage of that beautiful 7.9, 9.7 or 12.9 inches display". Now the iPad is indeed a "big iPod Touch" just like many people thought it would be the first time it was revealed in 2010.

i agree with you - iOS 7 on release was consistent! iOS 10 looks like a mishmash - half iOS 7 and then some new design Apple has implemented without paying attention to the rest of the design.

The UI for the iPad is appalling, and doesn't appear to have been improved in iOS 10 one whit.

Why the huge gaps between icons? Why, when I look at my wish lists in the App Store and iTunes, do I have a tiny little iPhone window instead of one spanning the whole screen? It's crazy and sad how Apple have abandoned the iPad. Do they not get it or do they just not care? Either answer is bad.

I feel for poor Steve Jobs, whose last baby the iPad was. Let's not forget that this was the last exciting hit to come out of Apple, and it happened in 2010. No wonder Apple have not produced another hit in the past six years, when they can't even produce a decent interface for the iPad. Honestly, why don't I just go over there and do the job for them? I'd transform the iPad in two ticks.

I like the new widget and notification look (not that I ever use widgets), but the fat fonts in Music and News are horrible!

I hope everyone using iOS 10 is submitting feedback on all these issue's??? Apple does listen, let them know we still want a dark mode and about the giant fonts. I don't know what is with the weird gray color of the widgets and notifications, I think they should be black or very dark at least.

I submitted a very long write up about Apple Music LOL. Haven't had time to submit anything else yet.

Yeah guys submit that feedback. It's early enough that things will change with each beta.

I said 7.0. It was a cluttered disaster at that first beta and the GM wasn't much better IMO. Buttons didn't look like buttons, the tap field was tiny, etc. It was pretty in its simplicity but the navigation made no sense and the text didn't stand out when functional.

iOS 10 looks like a nice increment on the iPhone. It looks like a thousand steps backward on the iPad. Both should be obvious. Apple fan or not.

I have never once heard anyone call iOS 7.0 "consistent" or "refined". The icons were a we're pretty poor with gradients going every which way. Non-button buttons and a host of other poor design that Apple spent iOS 7.x, 8, 9 and now 10 walking back. Jony's design skills were the butt of many a joke for months

iOS 10

iPhone - Better but not by much. Follows Apples current style of lazy design and borrowing from the neighbors.

iPad - Its what you expect. So many years later and the iPad is still "a big ass iPhone" and nothing here changes that.

So far I'm most excited by the force touch implementation. But that also makes me upset that the iPad is excluded from utilizing those commands. Force touch is great but long press really should've been allowed as an alternate command for the older phones and the iPads.

Are you aware this is coming in later betas?

Well now you do. ;)
Also, icons and gradients are still the same in iOS 10 so that should make it wrong too.

They ruined notification centre and widgets. You can only see 1 line previews in notification centre alerts and widgets for example philips hue you could have almost unlimited scenes now you can only have 4

Haha. Someone complaining that third-party widgets in a BETA look wrong.

Haven't heard that before...

My thoughts on iOS 10 haven't changed since I first tried it. Love it on the phone, seems completely neglected on the iPad. It surprises me a lot considering Apple has taken to the media to showcase how great of a computer the iPad is, but it's software doesn't even fit the bill.

I am excited the Messages app, and the widgets. I will have to use it in order to see what else there is.

There's definitely more functionality to be had for the iPad and I think we'll see an increased focus on that in later iterations of iOS 10. Maybe 10.2.
