iOS 11.1 Beta 2 Bug Fixes, Changes and Improvements

Or, hear the phone go "Ouch!" in stereo, courtesy the new and better speakers in the iPhone 7 and 8.
 
Just installed it, haven't installed a beta since iOS 9 days. One question, if I want to restore to 11.0.3 restoring to a previous backup via iTunes would be enough right ? Also, I have the iPhone connected to iTunes and it has made a backup automatically of 11.1 PB2. What's the point of having a backup from a beta ? You can't restore it...

..worth noting that I don’t do wifi at work and my signal at work is BAAAAAD.. like 1 minute to load images in text bad.

You have to send yourself like 20 emojis at first then it triggers them ..

ummm... so I just got a notification from my Bible app asking me how I was doing... with two emoji on each side of the text..
 
Having some frame drops while unlocking, iPhone SE. Also, I’m noticing that that Touch ID won’t even recognize my finger until 2nd attempt.
 
Well my over 2 year old 6S+ today is showing 36% battery left with Usage of 3hrs 59mins and Standby of 11hrs 30 mins
Not bad, however I have not been looking at video's like usual or loads of Facebook. LOL

No you cannot restore a new backup to an old iOS version. You CAN restore a backup from a beta tho. Its no different than any other backup. You should have moved or renamed the backup folder (just the device one not the entire folder) prior to letting it backup 11.1. Then you would have had a backup of pre 11.1 that you can restore if you wanted to go back. At this point you would have to download the 11.0.3 IPSW file and do a shift/update to go back. You will not be able to restore the 11.1 backup to iOS 11.0.3.

[Edit] that is in Windows. On Mac you have an archive function for your backups that will save them from being overwritten.

Thanks for the answer, I’m on Mac so I think I’ll wait to final release of 11.1 and still it via iTunes

Apple Maps or Google Maps? I am seeing that issue with Google Maps since beta 1. I was hoping that beta 2 would fix it but no such luck so I submitted bug reports with Apple and google

Isn’t that the expected behavior of airplane mode?
 
Pretty sure this is new... I Guess this is a US only feature..

I keep getting an odd intermittent bug. Every so often the lockscreen no longer shows the time and only a restart will fix it.

It’s not something I can replicate and it happens randomly.

I’ve tried all the trouble shooting usual steps. I even reset all the settings on the phone to see if it helped. But it happened again this morning.

This is on a 7 plus.
 
Just installed this after reading good reviews here. SO much better than 11.0.3. This is what 11.0 should have been.
 
This sounds like the first iOS 11 version "safe" enough to upgrade my iPhone 7 to (from 10.3).
I guess there are no problems to be expected when going from 10 directly to a beta version of 11.1?

Stay on 10 man what's the rush? Wait until at least the final of 11.1

iPhone SE here, pretty bad battery life. In 10.3.3 I was getting around 7:30-9 of usage
