Overall this build feels solid. Although, I’m still getting frequent delays when typing messages. I’ll type the first word, then nothing appears for 2-3sec, then everything at once to catch up. Anybody else experiencing this?
6s+
Hopefully we get another beta on Monday. It happens regularly now and my patience is wearing thin. #firstworldproblemsI’m having the exact same issue, 6s+. Submitted a bug report about it. Extremely annoying when switching to my messages app or using quick relay and run into it consistently.
Is it just me or are animations quite a bit better in general on 12.9 gen 2 with 11.1 PB2 over 11.0 ?
Better than iOS 10.3.3 would you say? I ask because I've just bought a 12.9 gen 2 which ships with that version and am currently marvelling at ProMotion. I'm too scared to update though as my iPhone lags on iOS 11.1 and with all these other people saying theirs are also lagging. Are things still just as smooth like they are on iOS 10.3.3 considering ProMotion or do they now feel laggier like on iPhones?
I spent zero time on 10.3.3 so can't comment
Similarly, I find an extreme lag (3-6 seconds) when sharing from photos or somewhere else to messages? I tap messages and wait then iMessage opens much later. Happens about 80% of the timeI’m having the exact same issue, 6s+. Submitted a bug report about it. Ah no worries. There's no where near as many lag issues here as there are on iOS 11 on my iPhone so was just curious. Think I'll stay put for now.
With Google Maps.Apple Maps or Google Maps? I am seeing that issue with Google Maps since beta 1. I was hoping that beta 2 would fix it but no such luck so I submitted bug reports with Apple and google

Isn’t that the expected behavior of airplane mode?
All iOS versions wait for a second press. If it didn’t it would jump to homescreen immediately and you would never have a chance to double press. That’s why the delay gets even longer when you add triple click behavior in the mix. You want a delay that’s long enough for most people to be able to double press. But not too long to be noticeable.
When the 7 arrived with it’s capacitive home button something changed. I’m not sure what so I’m only just speculating. But when going to the app switcher the app that was in foreground would bounce down a little before going up again to the app switcher row. As if the pressing the home button once would immediately close the app and then the second press would stop that animation and snap it back up.
With iOS 11 this is now fixed. It doesn’t bounce anymore. But there is now a slight delay before the app closes when pressing the home button once.
I have 10.3.3 on a ProMotion iPad and there is zero bounce or anything of the sort. The home button delay is a problemExactly this. People in these forums were freaking out over the "bounce," calling it a stutter and a glitch for months. Apple did smoothen it out to make it difficult to notice, but it was still there in the most recent version of iOS 10. iOS 9 and prior incorporated the delay that is now back in iOS 11. Another thing to note is that Apple re-jigged all the home screen and multitasking-related animations in iOS 11 presumably due to the new gestures on iPads and iPhone X.

After 1 complete cycle my battery is the same as 10.3.3 if not better. 7 plus
