Don’t know if others see this and it could just be to my particular type of car (I already filed the radar), but the lack of recognition of the iPhone by my 2011 BMW’s iDrive system using the iPod input via the Lightning to Dock Connector Adapter is disheartening. I know this may basically be a legacy feature in maintenance mode, but it’ll be nice if Apple is able to stop breaking it. iOS 11 GM shipped with this broken after I sent in many bug reports and the software engineering team followed up and fixed it in the last iOS 11 beta before the RC went out. Now, it’s creeped up again.

And I know some folks may say “just connect through Bluetooth/retrofit your car/get new system/get new car,” all of which isn’t possible (although there is a BT dongle I can get for ~$100, yet I got the iPod connector and adapter from the dealer for free ¯\_(ツ)_/¯).

Also seeing some Springboard crash issues. Reminds me of the jailbreaking days lol

I’m on pb 2 on my iPhone 7 and my alarm clock isn’t working properly. I switch on silent mode at night but the alarm goes off but with no sound at all.

Please elaborate what you mean when you say the 8 chokes on opening apps.

When using an app for a little longer and then returning to the home screen, the animations skips or lags really bad. When opening an app, the last few frames of the animation lag, sometimes if I use the phone too fast, the opening animation just skips. Going to the widgets page results in stutter. Unlocking the phone after not using it for a while makes the animation stutter really bad and the UI in general stutters when using the phone too fast. I have an iphone 8, it was dfu restored to 11.2. Beta 1 with no backups and then OTA updated to beta 2. But it might be just me nit picking.

Is a new “feature” that when the battery is almost empty then instead of acting normally and then automatically shutting down the phone it starts to lag a lot, stall, freeze and be basically unusable until the battery completely dies.

I’m actually seeing most of what you are describing on my 7. It certainly has gotten better over most of 11.x.x betas, but I’ve seen a decrease in performance with 11.2 beta 2 compared to beta 1. Maybe we are nit picking, and I’m confident that these issues will improve as iOS 10 had plenty of issues early on and now seems to be the gold standard for performance.

I'm not starting a war here, but what if third time goes unanswered as well? ;)

It clearly shows standby hours and usage hours, and I don't think Power Save was enabled. That would be cheating. :p
Yeah I know, but if you put it it doesn't show up, so you can never know.

All that you have mentioned have been legit complaints and issues, however, I, on my 7, have had animation stutter when closing and opening only rarely, and by that I mean only once in beta 2, a little while after installing beta 2 and then performing a hard reset.

The only odd thing I have observed is that yesterday, for no rhyme or reason, a game that I play was acting slower than it should have, and I closed all apps, waited 5 minutes, hard reset the phone, and it was like the issue never happened.

Do see if you would restore the image again, try and isolate the issues one by one, and then report your findings to Apple. This is a beta, and the real developers know that they have to "work it". I find the threads brimming with disappointments beta after beta, citing the latest hardware, but this is the very nature of the beast that beta software experience is. You have to invest time in it, some times.

I assume you are talking about inability to know if Power Save mode was enabled during the screenshot of battery life? Well, people can cheat, they can keep it enabled, then switch it off and take screenshots, but that is not what anyone is doing here, I am sure.

On another note, if Power Save was enabled when the screen shot was taken, you'd see a nice mustard yellow battery telling you that Power Save is enabled. :)

I agree, though my wife’s 7 running 11.1.1 has more stutters than my beta device haha. This whole “nature of running a beta” has proven no significance in my experience with iOS 11 once you are testing past 11.0.

I've seen some people bring this up, but at the same time I've had my iPhone 7 run out of battery a few times here and there and I can't say that I've experienced anything like that.

I think I’ve had this problem since iOS 11.0. But since I (and many other people) don’t let the phone die then I rarely counter this problem.

I got 6s.

Is there any chance the battery life will be fixed on 7 Plus? Apple has ruined it completely. 7 hours of use is max I get.

@Freakonomics101 reports excellent battery life. Kindly show screenshots of total devastation, maybe you have a rogue app or something.

Also, battery life is dependent on system software as well as application software.

One more thing: are you ever satisfactorily satisfied with iOS builds?

Is that something any of us users can answer here, especially related to various individual experiences that can and often do differ?

I was easily getting 10 hours or more on iOS 10.3.3. Ever since iOS 11 dropped its been limited to 7 hours no matter what I do and this is with moderate use. I have even tried low power mode.

This is my battery level after just around 3 hours.

from an earlier post of mine regarding beta 2 and available storage... restoring the phone as I write, Other had reached 5GB (16GB iPhone 6)!!!! even after I had deleted most of my apps to see if there was any difference, no change.

Its certainly strange how Beta 2 caused a 2.5GB gain in Other, as no other Beta has done this in the past

I know that this has been discussed since the iPhone was launched and its obvious that Apple knows of the issue but refuses to do anything about it, but there must be an easier way to "lower" Other without restoring the phone!!! (and going through the whole procedure with the Apple Watch...) Known "tricks" with deleting large apps, clearing email, iMessage etc are absolutely useless!!!!! All the well known cache cleaners for iOS are only good for clearing the cache on Real Racing 3, Facebook, Instagram etc.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Would you use your phone exactly how you do, just without Asphalt, and see if that solves the issue?
