Rules for Appropriate Debate

Respect
Guidelines: Show respect for your fellow posters. Expect and accept that other users may have strongly held opinions that differ from yours.

Rules:

  1. Name-calling. Name-calling falls into the category of insults and will be treated as such according to the forum rules, your own opinion about another member notwithstanding. You can't call a bigot a bigot, a troll a troll, or a fanboy a fanboy, any more than you can call an idiot an idiot. You can disagree with the content of another member's statement or give your evidence or opinion to dispute their claims, but you may not make a negative personal characterization about that member.
  2. Insults. Slurs and insults against groups of people based on negative-stereotyping and obvious generalizations fall into the category of trolling and will be treated as such.
  3. Taunting. Mocking or taunting another forum member is not acceptable. Posts that ridicule another member or obviously exaggerate or misstate their views may be removed.

Quickly switching to a webapp (apple-mobile-web-app-capable webpage added to home screen) causes a spring.

Wow I have never seen Apple release software a day after a beta drops for it. I’m shocked
[doublepost=1512221916][/doublepost]11.2 has been great on my X no issues to report.

As credence to his post, there are a lot of rumblings about this on Reddit as well. It might be worth a read there, too.
Yeah, I started doing some more digging last night and realized how widespread and the cause. Yikes. I wonder if Apple knew about this bug coming.

I don't think they did otherwise there was no point releasing Beta 6 if they were going to make it final a few hours later. Probably someone at HQ read the news and was given the go ahead to release the update instead of releasing a point version for what is fixed in 11.2 anyway.

Yeah the final release was def not planned this way. Apple support was getting flooded and Apple had to drop the update in order to prevent a massive PR problem so they dropped it ASAP. Whatever bugs were in 11.2 weren’t gonna be as the time bug in 11.1.2 haha

I really hope this forces Apple to take a good hard tool at what they are doing in the software department. I know that they have had follies in the past, even under Steve’s leadership, but this year has been bad.

Yeah I really think there needs to be some hard decisions made here and some fresh minds brough in to structure things. Whoever is running the show here right now isn’t doing an an Apple quality job right now. It’s been horrible on iOS 11

Agreed. I know some of you haven’t had a single issue, which I doubt, but I can say that I have had so many friends and family come to me with iOS 11 complaining about a variety of issues (much more than ever before). Mind you, I warned most of my friends and family not to update yet, and most have not yet.

Yeah this was the first year I told my family to stay on a previous iOS. When 11 dropped I told everyone to stay on iOS 10 until at least 11.1

They would have had to know. Otherwise how is it fixed in 11.2? Just really an odd situation for sure.

Well had my iPhone X for not even 24hrs and already the battery life is way way better than I had on my 7 Plus! This is despite restoring from my iCloud backup after going to 11.2B6 last night.

Good to know. So my X should give me my outstanding 1.5 days battery back.

Maybe they inadvertently fixed it without knowing it when they addresses another related bug. Or maybe 11.2 does have the bug but at some other date in the future.

iOS 8 was no picnic either. Bricking phones, resprings. Then there were some others that were more worthy. This is just another bug on a long line of others.

Looks like typical battery life I get on my 7+ ......
[doublepost=1512232566][/doublepost]
Notice any performance boosts or notable improvements?

11.2 final has been out for a few hours, too early to tell....

iOS 11 is worse than iOS 8. Was there a bug on iOS 8 which crashed the phone and all apps on it every 15 seconds without even doing anything?

Battery life on iPhone 7. Looks good, considering 40 percent remaining.

To err is human, right? Or is iOS developed, maintained and delivered to us by God himself?

You really should consider canceling your order and buying into the Android ecosystem. You'll be buying the best hardware, buttons with no lags, heavenly software, and most of all, your peace of mind. In under a thousand dollars.
