I can confirm this. Dismissing the control center sends a kind of strong vibration, strong kick. Sometimes loud, sometimes just strong.

Yes you can. You just need to uncheck the selected option.

No magnify has a tick, it’s greed out and I can’t uncheck.

Yup. That's the immediate solution I have come up with although its involving a tradeoff. I am trading a bigger screen and faster biometrics for a smaller but better screen and Gen 1 FaceID. From experience Apple's Gen 2 biometrics blow away Gen 1. I honestly don't think the phone is worth the price I paid for it(I paid full price outright) but whatever. That's the starting price of Apple's flagships from hereon in.
You'll be here in these same forums soon enough whining about another Apple device. You can still cancel and get a sweet Android device for a fraction of the cost. With no home button on the iPhone X what will you seize upon to complain about? I have some theories about what it will be but let's wait for you to discover them. By the way, iOS 11.2 (with the just released beta 6) is running fantastically on iPhone 6, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8 and iPhone X. Very happy with performance, stability and battery life (beta 5 was doing very well battery-wise on all iPhones. Beta 6 so far appears to be on track be equal or better).

The guy paid $1000 to get rid of an “annoyance” caused by his miracle of modern technology acting a half a second slower than he thought it should.

Hate to see what would happen if his power ever went out.

In other news, my iPhone 6s appears to be running just as good as 10.3.3. Super smooth and battery life is what it has always been. 11.2 is great software.

Count my 6s as running fantastic as well on this beta. My only real issue from beta 5 was wifi disconnects, but I couldn’t confirm that as a beta 5 issue. So far, so good.

[QUOTE="One thing that DOES slow down the home button (and has for a few years now) is having an accessibility shortcut set. Make sure one is not set if you feel you have a slow button[/QUOTE]

Wow. I have most of my apps in folders. When I came out of an app I ended up back in the folder. But on pressing the home button again the screen would hang for ages before returning to the homescreen. It was very annoying.

Having turned off accessibility shortcut it seems very snappy! Excellent. Hopefully it’s now fixed.

I don’t need triple tap homescreen, I have got magnifier in Control Centre.

Size and the build number seem to be indicative of that. The fact that it's the 6th beta and a second one this week too also seem to indicate that we are getting pretty close to the public release.

ios9.2 and 10.2 both released the second week of December.

4.5 hours later and the Wiki page is empty - have we actually discovered any tangible changes associated with this build?
Lots of folks saying it feels smoother and the existing minor issues still not resolved. Short answer - No. Apple will drop this as the 11.2 release and the world will rejoice, and people will send each other money thru Messages as if it’s a better offering than PayPal.

Beta 5 only took a couple minutes to download, this one is a good 15 minutes for me. Big beta.
Full installer. Thats why

The entire download and install process seemed faster than usual. Will be interested in what this brings.
Same here on two devices. WAY faster than its been taking since all the 11 betas.

Yes, exactly my thoughts as I typed that reply, that there will probably come another beta this Monday itself, who am I kidding downloading and restoring fresh! Just stay on the bandwagon and restore only if you feel something is really amiss.. if my battery life tanks, if some user experience kinks arise, etc. So on second thoughts, just updating via the inbuilt mechanism and calling it a day!
Also a 'reset all settings' seems to work well too if there are issues. (or even if you just want to clean up after an update) and a lot easier than a clean install. As you stated no need unless there are issues but try that 1st before the clean install nothing to loose. :)

Two betas in a row with no phone app lag/visual voicemail bug.

Hope I didn’t just jinx myself.
Same here.

From everything I've gathered, hard resets are not a good idea unless you are having an issue. It's essentially like unplugging you desktop from the wall or removing the battery from your laptop while it's powered on. Can result in corruption (though very difficult to do in iOS). Sorry to further contribute to your OCD.
Exactly. A reboot not a bad idea and the normal reboot does the same thing just in an orderly fashion.

I do the same thing- and it might just be placebo effect but i feel like my phone runs better that way.
A reboot (normal) would do the same thing and would be a better option.

Before I update, I clear all of my apps and reboot my phone (not a hard reset). After the update is finished, I open all of my frequently used apps, then reboot my phone again and the leave my phone alone for a good half hour. All this is done while connected to power.
I do similar and have for years, esp when OTA updating. Difference is I close apps, reboot, update and just let it roll. Don't load apps until I need them but basically same deal and I never have OTA update issues when doing it that way. Just makes since when updating an OS to close things out 1st.

I thought my battery life was good on iOS 11.1.2 with my 8Plus. iOS 11.2 is noticeably better.

Since a lot of the world is already on December 2nd seems like there would be more reports of this. Hopefully it's not something widespread.
Good point. The posts I saw didn’t look too trustworthy.

Exactly.

As of me typing this post, it’s 3:40 in the afternoon in Sydney. Our first images of people going bats*** crazy on iPhone launch day are from Sydney. If this was really a widespread, concerning issue I’m sure we would’ve heard something official from Apple by now.

I always do a force restart after installing an iOS update. Not really sure if it has any affect (or god forbid I’m doing harm to my iPhone), I just like to think I’m giving it a fresh start.

Or just chalk it up to my OCD.

I tend to open multi tasking and close all app. I then hold power until slide to power off, hold home till cache clears and then update my phone. I then power down by slide to power off and power up again.
