It doesn't run at max frequency all the time. If it did it would over heat, forcing a shut down until everything cooled to acceptable limits.
Agreed. When I open and close geekbench, cpu frequency is always changing.

If you play a game for 2 hours it’s going to run at max frequency but not overheat. Devices are tested to not overheat in such conditions.

Depends how you define max frequency. In Intel speech, are we talking turbo or base?
Processors are designed such that they can overshoot their TDPs for burst workloads.

Do ARM processors in iPhones have turbo? We’re not talking about Intel here.

I realise that.

ARM as a whole does not specify Turbo, as ARM is just the instruction set, not the specific implementation

Variable frequency modulation is however a feature of a lot of the modern chips, as far as I know, including Apple's A-designs

So if I’m talking about max frequency I mean the designed max frequency aka 1.85GHz for 6s.

Something I can’t find anywhere.....does anyone know if Airplay 2 will make 4k streaming possible from an iDevice to a 4k AppleTV?? Or is it a limitation in the TV OS? Got a friend who wants to show his 4k drone videos on his 4k Apple TV.

How long is it usually until we see the first PB?

A lot of the features coming in 11.3 seem interesting, but some of those bugs are killer for me. I won't be putting this on my X (DD) until these are fixed.

Might not be there until the next beta.

Just noticed that Wifi Calling now also shows up under Cellular. Previously, I believe it only showed up under Phone. T-mobile. Can anyone confirm the change?

Has anyone had a respringing issue when trying to access a notification on the lockscreen via a right to left swipe? This has plagued me pretty much since I got my X. It's not every time, but typically after I get a new Untappd or Facebook notification.

My guess is next week or the week after.

Might not be there until the next beta.

Thanks, both of you. On one hand I'm bummed for not having the new stuff to play with, on the other hand, I'm enjoying the semi-stability of 11.2.5, lol.

Can confirm Skype isn't working for me. I've logged it in the Feedback app (which I still have as public beta tester for 11.2 I guess).
They are already aware of that one. Its in the release notes.

Been that way for a while now on Verizon. Not sure if its new to T-mobile or not though.

I keep reading conflicting reports on whether Messages on iCloud is working properly in this beta. I installed on my iPad Pro but not yet on my iPhone X. Can someone confirm iCloud messages is working between iPhone and iPad?

There's a reason for the conflicting reports. It works for some and not for all. There are many variable and subtle differences between people's accounts and device preferences, etc. so it's hard to tell exactly what causes it to work/not work.
