I know that the cpu throttling thing isnt available in this beta but I never saw my iphone 6s running at 1853mhz (cpu dasherx) since this beta. I think they enabled it anyways

yes u are right, in this beta all throttle is turned off completely!

This beta runs great on my old iPhone 6 and iPhone 7 Plus. I feel like they have speeded up the animations a little further.

A few things I have noticed however:

Apps are not sorted by how much data they have consumed thus far. Just thrown together in the list really.

edit: weird. Now they are indeed sorted

New texts and iMessage attachments do synch (delete etc) but not the ones from before enabling iCloud Messages.

Seem to have lost a little space.

Local Storage no longer has the convenient sub menu to check all iMessage attachements etc in one place. At least I can’t find it anymore

Radio stations in Apple Music no longer have a Star (like/dislike) button. It has been replaced with a Previous Track control.

For me to get messages on iCloud to work I did the following.

Settings -> iCloud - Manage Storage -> Backup

Once in there I deleted the backup for my iPhone and 10.5” Pro.

Then I went into

Settings -> iCloud -> iCloud Backup

Immediately backed up both devices again with a fresh backup.

As soon as I did that my messages synced again on the iPad, phone remained the same. It all now works as intended.

What it did not do was sync any current messages before 11.3 across devices.

So I had messages on my iPad and iPhone which weren’t showing on the MacBook Pro.

However when deleting one of the phone it immediately deleted it off the iPad.

When i deleted a message off the MacBook Pro it immediately deleted off all devices.

So it seems to be that you must have a current iCloud backup completed since 11.3 B1 for it to all sort itself out. Certainly in my case anyhow.

Thanks for the information.

I don’t have a current backup on either of my devices for 11.3 b1. I just tested deleting a couple messages on my 10.5 and 7 Plus. Messages were deleted across both devices. I’m glad this is back. :)

Here’s a fun one, iBooks or “books” as it’s known now is choosing random books from my iCloud library to download on its own, unprompted. Every time I enter the app, more books start loading.

Feedback submitted.

This beta is absolute rubbish. It's been awhile since I'd gone back to previous version of iOS I had before. Battery drain alone was horrific. I highly suggest holding off chaps.
How are you going to test your app if you go back? Do you have a backup device dedicated to app development?

The problem with “throttling is completely turned off” in this beta is that the cpu never downclocks which results in battery drain.

It doesn't run at max frequency all the time. If it did it would over heat, forcing a shut down until everything cooled to acceptable limits.

If you play a game for 2 hours it’s going to run at max frequency but not overheat. Devices are tested to not overheat in such conditions.

You ought to, yes. An iPad or an iPod Touch for development is a good idea, so that your phone, which can be a relatively vital device, can be on a stable OS.

Though also, it's very unlikely that everyone on this thread actually develop apps....

On that subject though (app development) - In Safari, when you're in the tab vies (especially visible if you go to Private and you have no open tabs), a blurred and darkened version of your background picture is visible. Any idea how the app does that? Makes it seem as if Safari is on top of your background picture.
