Too bad that does not sync with the other devices tho! The main reason I was looking forward to iCloud Message was being able to delete an attached on one device and have it gone on all the others as well but nope I still have to do it manually on each device. Such a pain, especially without a „delete all“ button

Yeah, I don't think it syncs that way. It seems to only sync whole messages for deleting.
Personally, this works fine for me as I don't keep messages for more than a few days.

As no one commented on this I have upgraded to the beta for my own testing and update here/provide Apple feedback if this is still the case

EDIT: Already occurred again for me, though doesn't appear to happen when screen recording, maybe as the time icon changes to red changes the behaviour..

Will submit as feedback

I don’t have this issue since the time stayed the same when opening apps or switching between apps

Unfortunately it is a rather tough term to google given the terms you are searching for! It also does not always do this either..

Messages get out of order again occasionally.. wth?

  • duplicate movies, tv shows and episodes (#177)
  • seasons out-of-order (#177)
  • wrong TV show title in multiple places (#177)
  • downloaded movies don't show up if you switch to the airplane mode (#270)
  • unable to stream some TV shows on cellular connection
  • "remove download" pop-up contents not centered vertically (#306)

weird bug in messages. will randomly not notify you when you get new texts, but will short vibrate as if you're in the text conversation. badge quickly appears on messages icon, but disappears quickly as if it thinks you're in the app. hard reset fixes.
 
Seems like my imessage are hit or miss on notifying me on the screen.. I get a sound notification and badge count but not the visual.. Maybe its me but was not an issue with last beta .. reset all settings and when I installed this beta set up phone as new.. When I delete conversation with the person it works fine..

Same here. Texts are levels of screwed up beyond belief. Here’s to next beta.

Did I miss this functionality being removed?

I was just introduced to the Marco Polo app which basically uses short video messaging to send videos to each other.

I swear we used to be able to hold down the camera icon in iMessages to record a video to send.

Am I imagining things or did this functionality get disabled?

Perhaps you are thinking about the voice message functionality?

Nope.

I doubled checked on YouTube. Previous versions of iOS would let you hold the camera icon and slide to the video record button and quickly send a video.

I can’t remember what version they removed it.

Just had a respring while browsing Reddit via the Apollo app. First one too. Kinda disappointing as I’ve had no complaints with this beta thus far.
 
Just noticed a weird thing that might explain my previous post - see below. I made a backup to iCloud before deleting everything by going into Settings/General/Reset. The things is though, when the phone was erased and I signed in using my Apple ID, it appears that the messages were not restored based on the backup I made before erasing? The "newest" message was from 4 days ago?? This must be a bug right?

You are not imagining things; short video messages were introduced in iOS 8 (see below). Don’t know when it got pulled.
