iOS 11 Beta 1: Changes, Bug Fixes, Enhancements, etc.

I've sifted through the 24 pages and some people have asked similar questions, without getting a reply yet : how is iOS 11 on iPhone 6/6+? I was thrilled in the keynote when they showed how you'd be able to customise the CC and have more options available just one 3D Touch away, but then I remembered I don't have 3D Touch...

How does it work on iPhone 6? Long press or are the panes unavailable for iPhone 6 users?

What are you talking about? No you don’t. Siri works as usual, but you have the option of editing what you said.

Sorry, I just saw what you meant. You are confusing 2 features.
1. This is an accessibility feature and you have to disable Hey Siri and the other is
2. an enhancement to regular Siri. So for example if you have asked Siri to remind you pick up a person and it got the name wrong, you can fix it.

Being able to edit what Siri heard isn’t new. It’s more prominent now though. I just wish you could type without having to do a workaround.

Do Not Disturb While Driving is not enabled in this beta. Read the release notes for more information.
 
I don’t like the new keyboard layout on the iPad. I wish there was an option to disable that flick keyboard and go back to the old style if you wanted to.

It looks like HomeKit got some updates as well. Were “zones” available before? I had to delete my home and reset everything up. Now it seems like I can use the geofence with individuals added to my HomeKit, can create zones (ties accessories together so you can control them as one), timer with automation, and restrictions on time of day or specific times for automation.

When the phone is unlocked and you swipe down to get notifications the phone locks

Edit: it was me just being stupid

Do all messages (even SMS) sync to iCloud or only iMessages?

And another question for anyone who can try.. Can we now remove Photo Booth from an iPad?

Yeah, or maybe it is taking a while to get used to how the keyboard is laid out. It’s more of a personal thing. I just don’t like the look of the new keyboard. I would prefer at least an option to revert back to the old style, for those who didn’t want the flick style keyboard.

Anyone got an issue installing iOS 11 onto an iPhone 6s Plus ? I've tried 3 times now and it just goes into a boot screen loop and I then have to restore to the old iOS ? I really don't know why it keeps doing this..
 
iMessage sync isn't working for me, but not sure if that's a bug or just not enabled on iCloud.

Also, I found that when you are moving apps, when you move one into a folder and exit the folder, you can no longer move apps around.

I pushed the home button to make them stop shaking, went into the folder again and exited, and all the apps were shaking again. So there's those two bugs too.

Man I love getting the betas! So fun! haha.

Hi everyone, I held off installing this yesterday (as I only have the one phone and am not a developer, just someone who enjoys being cutting edge) but am thinking about installing it today.

In the wiki, the following concern me:
  • Auto-brightness is broken
  • Can't switch FaceTime camera
Are these universal issues or just the one person who put the relevant item into the wiki? Thanks!
