On iOS 11 for iPad, when you're in the "multitasking/Mission Control-like" screen, can you drag one of the "full screen" app tiles onto another full screen app tile and join them as a "split screen" tile? [Does that even make sense?] You can do this with two full screen apps in macOS's Mission Control.

On a side note, I think "Mission Control" is a horrible name.

You can't, yet it's the first thing I tried because it's the most intuitive way to do it. I hope that it will be added, though I can see a up challenge on doing "the right thing" when one or more of the spaces you merge is already in split view (my first thought is that it'd be nice to be able to merge/unmerge an app directly in that view)

The 2 Factor Authentication (2FA) is NOT new... but with iOS 11, if you don't have it, it will push you in that direction. It looks like the previous security scheme (2 step verification) is being phased out in favor of 2FA... and the map popup is a part of the 2FA confirmation that will appear on a trusted device... clicking through that map popup will give you a 6 digit numeric code to be used on the NEW device to authenticate the login.

I’m sure I’ve been doing this with iOS 10 too. I didn’t think it was new to iOS 11.

Well, I reset the network settings on my iPhone around October 2016 (iOS 10) and my Mac still has all the saved Wi-Fi networks (and passwords) from travels in the years before. Are you sure this is new?
I'm fairly sure. I remember I did a Reset Network Settings on my iPhone during the 10.3.2 beta cycle and it erased all the saved WiFi networks on my Mac.

Thanks. I hope it's added in future betas. It does seem like an obvious method to do a split view, and at this point I don't think Apple can provide any excuses for iOS if its somethings macOS is able to do in it's UI.

Regarding notification centre I don’t like how if you drag it down from the top if want to exit you either have to press the home button or do a full swipe from the very bottom of the screen to get rid of it. Quite a poor design flaw and not something very easy to do one handed.

So in other words. Exactly like iOS 10.

Yes, 2FA is/was available in iOS 10... but with iOS 11, Apple seems to be pushing you hard toward 2FA, and appears to be forcing you OFF of 2 step verification... from what I can tell, once you remove 2SV for any reason, you cannot go back... your only option is NO verification of 2FA only.

Just a bug. It’s not that annoying. I find it very intermitttent. It doesn’t always happen for me.

That’s not new. It’s two-factor authentication. I believe it’s present in iOS 10.

Two factor isnt new but this pop up is new. There was a popup before, but not with this little maps preview and the exact city from where the request comes. Im pretty sure this is new.

I had that in iOS 10. Unless I was being A/B tested then I think everyone with 2FA on did.

Maybe this was a bug in 10.3 (or at least the 10.3 betas) and they've come around to fixing it? I'd expect resetting the network settings on my phone not to influence those of my computer (even though a lot of syncing is happening).

Could be... I'm just glad that it's not happening anymore because that was a pain to re-add all my wifi connections every time I reset my phone.

The time and date show if you scroll to the widget view from your lock screen, but if you just swipe left from your home screen then there's no date or time (the time shows in the status bar of course).
A bit odd that they would leave it when you access it from the lock screen, where you basically already have it on the lock screen itself, but remove it when you are unlocked when you don't really have it (unless they think bringing down the new notification center with the "lock screen" portion being there now even when unlocked replaces that basically, or it's just a beta oversight or a bug).

This may have been asked already, but are there any noticeable changes/improvements with AirPods other than the new tap actions?

I get this with Waze, regardless of whether the app is navigating or not. I expected this if I was having Waze navigate, and I clicked back to the homescreen to do something else (as I've seen Google Maps do many times in iOS10), but even if I've completed my trip, and I go back tot he home screen after using Waze, I get the blue bar at the top that says Waze is using my location, and it never goes away. I have to force kill the Waze app to get it to stop.

Waze still uses your location even when you leave it. Does it so it can keep tracking you for road notifications.

Didn’t see this mentioned. PiP can now be arbitrarily sized down to a set minimum and set maximum, rather than the two sizes allowed previously.

Edit: actually, I’m mistaken. It’s now 4 sizes.

Here's a summary:

HomeKit triggers will now support:
  • conditional triggers (if I arrive home and it is after dark, run Scene X)
  • absolute date and time events (ie - 5pm on June 9th)
  • relative time offset (1 hour before sunrise, 2 minutes after sunset, etc) Finally!
  • The relative time offset could be gated relative to an event (ie start 1 hour before sunrise and finish 1 hour after sunrise)
  • This gating feature could be applied to other inputs as well - such as temperature thresholds
  • Conditional presence is functional now (you can trigger events when one person leaves - and/or when ALL people leave). This could mean - Jane's bedroom lights go out when Jane leaves. It could also mean that all lights go out and the thermostat changes when the last person leaves - or the first person comes home.
  • End events. When I open my patio door at night, the light will come on. Ten minutes after coming on, the light will turn off.
  • Events can be run on specific days of the week. ( I feel like that's currently possible... perhaps I am wrong)
  • Execute once. You can set up a single shot event.
  • Bluetooth LE triggered automation will experience a reduction of latency from several seconds to under a second due to a change in the broadcast process.
  • HomeKit Faucets are intended to - I kid you not - allow you to warm up the shower or bath via Siri.
  • HomeKit can now be authorized by SOFTWARE!!! In my opinion, this is huge - and could open the floodgates for all of the accessories that don't have a MFi chip.
  • Apple has added more MFi certification labs to speed up the release of accessories.

You forgot to mention it will also support AirPlay2 speakers.

Shuffle & Repeat sticks for me. However it appears it isn’t. But the playlists still Shuffle. If I tap the shuffle/repeat buttons a couple of times they then go red etc.
