Anyone using a Mcdodo lightning cable (the “smart” cable that shuts off when battery charged) and noticing any unusual battery drain with the cable remaining plugged in after it’s charged the battery and shut off? Have only noticed this behavior on my 7+ with beta 4 and 5.
That cable is not MFI and should not be used, it just kills the battery.

The Notification Centre does not show a X at the top of the latest notifications. It shows a X only at the top right of 'Earlier Today' notifications and even earlier notifications.

I know we‘re in a beta and I‘m an experienced beta-tester for ages but I don‘t know if I‘m the only one that is suffering a huge battery-leak in iOS 11. My battery went to 58 to 55 while writing this (lowest brightness, no music, no streaming, no background activities except WhatsApp) and went from 90 to 59 in the last two hours with the same usage.

using: iPhone 7, latest public beta 11, not more than half a year old

The funniest part is that WhatsApp is using most of the battery, while I‘m not even using it that much and have almost every sort of notifications disabled. Will ad couple screenshots later.

Has anybody noticed a difference in the behavior of the lockscreen when using “rest finger to unlock”? Used to be you could click the button to wake the screen and it would immediately go to the home screen. Now it seems like it’s gone back to what it was in the beginning. I click the button to wake the screen and “unlocked” shows up in the status bar but I have to lift my finger and place it again to get to the home screen.

I don’t like it.

Still unchanged for me. If I rest my finger it will lock in a second (even faster for me like it seems haha)

Only the second day on the beta for me and I’m starting to notice things, so far battery life tops the list and I’ve noticed some excessive battery loss also. Was on a call earlier for about an hour and usually I’d drop maybe 5% or a tad bit more. I lost about 25% battery. Not noticing any battery heat to speak of.
Another annoying thing is every forum site I now go to signs me out as soon as I leave. Having to sign back in each time even if I leave for just a minute. Usually I could just reopen a safari tab but still have to re login. Wondering if there is a setting someplace, but checked around and found nothing yet. Still like it tho. I notice my sig bars seem better, no idea why. Before I had the numerical value set. Hoping someone finds a hack for that feature sometime.

One thing That comes to my mind is if the iCloud-Keychain is set up correctly. I‘m currently on my way home from holidays so if someone confirms it, they can deliver some screenshots if needed.

How many have performed a full reset to try and clear up niggles like battery life? Wondering if it would help and if so, should be set back up from a backup or as a new phone. Setting up as new sounds cleaner but more hassle. Thinking I might do it later this eve and see if it helps anything. I know being beta some stuff will just not go away till apple sends a fix but might give it a go. Or would it make more sense to wait for the finished product?

Jumped on the betas at DP4, which has been generally good on my iP7, was away on holiday last week so didn’t want to risk upgrading to DP5.
From what I’ve read here DP5 seems a bit buggier(?), and according to the reddit guy, DP6 is meant to come out Monday 14th, right?
If I skip DP5, will I be able to upgrade from 4 straight to 6?

Yes, that is no problem if you skip a beta. The next one will appear in the setting if you couldn‘t update. I would update, if I had the time. Beta 5 feels better and you can notice the improvements they make from beta to beta. It‘s more stable with every beta and more and more bugs are disappearing.

You absolutely can... the update download files OTA are deltas from one beta to the next... however, if you skip one the OTA download will be the full file - so instead of a 60-100MB download, you will be looking at 1+GB file... but doing the update will not be an issue.

This is happening to me on my iPad Pro 10.5 on 10.3.3

Reset all settings on my VZW iP6S+ and used erase all content and settings on my Air 2 and 1st Gen iPP 12.9 (both VZW), battery issues were more-or-less addressed. I've used the Reset Network Settings command on the iP6S+ and an ATTWS 6S a couple of times when LTE tanked - both are working fine now.

About others reporting issues with ATTWS LTE, it's partly the network - my mom's Kyocera LTE flip has been having connection problems over the past 10 days or so in two markets, fixed temporarily only by a reboot. The flip is running a version of Android.

I think I will, both to experience the changes, and then for the smaller size of the next update! Thanks

I have a dev account through work so I've been using the ipsw files. With a fast internet connection, updating using iTunes is MUCH faster than OTA.

Anyone having problems with DND while driving set to auto mode not triggering when you start driving?

Can't seem to get it to work since Beta 2. Any particular setting need to be enabled in the location services?

The quoted text down there is the first thing that comes to my mind when reading your post:

„The feature, when active, will be able to tell if you’re in a car when your phone is connected to the car’s USB connection or Bluetooth. It will also be able to use the iPhone’s sensors to determine your speed, even if your phone isn’t connected to a car.“

Did you consider this?

Is this good battery life iPhone 7

Be careful with hiding apps in the App Store purchased section by swiping from right to left on an iPad. (If this even works for you.)*

Yesterday I wanted to hide all apps I'll never use again on my 9.7" Pro. With the first two or three apps it worked as expected, but then suddenly always the app underneath the selected one got hidden. Maybe it depends on what position of the screen you are doing this.

*Although this function was already pretty useless for me before in iOS 10. All apps reappear the next time I looked into my purchases.

On PB4 & notifications on my Apple Watch have been perfect for last 2 betas.

Noticed from this morning , more & more emails (Spark) & sport notifications are coming through on phone rather than watch. Have turned phone & Watch Off & On to see if cures.

Any one else ?

Is anyone having an issue with exchange accounts on b5? I have to constantly enter my password.
