it's still interesting to see how apple's design team goes through that process. it may not make that much of a difference to the end user at all, but we're seeing first hand the little tiny minute changes that one of the best design companies in the world makes.

if you're a designer, engineer, business owner, artist, marketing, product designer, etc etc etc etc... it's super interesting.
I’m just a dork and I like it :D

MCDV,

I have just started having the same issue as you with the screen becoming unresponsive and having to do a hard reboot. I also see that you asked for comments about going back to 10.3.3 but havent seen any responses. I am considering doing the same as the unresponsive screen is starting to happen more and more.

I dont think all the bugs reported worldwide till date for iOS 11 Betas are going to be fixed before public release,

As I already stated above (post #427), does anyone else have this recurring problem with an absolutely unresponsive screen and power button?

Damn it, I also reported it as a bug, but now that I read your post, I agree with you : it seems to be intentional from Apple, that now hidden pictures are hidden « everywhere », except in the « hidden » album.

I’ve just tried to hide a new picture, and the prompted message is not the same... that’s bad for me as I have several hidden albums, that look empty now, though there is a number indicated on the icon. But when you open it, it shows « 0 photos ».

It’s not great for me that all hidden photos are mixed in a single album :(

I also submitted a bug report.

The thing is all they have to do is add a "Show hidden photos in albums" switch, that default to "Off". This would make those of us who use hidden photos this way happy, and everyone else too.

But I doubt they will do it as Apple tends to be loathe to add options for things like this.

Maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised.

Amusingly I only discovered this upon upgrading my iPad to iOS 11 Beta 5; I would have never noticed this issue on my test iPhone I was using previously since it doesn't have my actual photo library on it.

Also, I cannot get my 10.5” iPad Pro to see the iOS 11 developer beta 5 for the life of me. My iPhone 7 Plus saw it immediately. I removed the profile and restarted my iPad, then redownloaded the profile. I guess I will have to keep trying. I have never experienced such a delay before.

For me, somehow the beta profile got "removed" from my 10.5" iPad pro. I had to re-install the profile to get to db5.

Yes, this bug is awful! I have tried to downgrade the way I mentioned above (see post #495) and in fact it works without being stuck in a bootloop or s.th.

BUT lots of apps didn't work anymore, including Messages, WhatsApp etc. So that was no solution for me and I restored my iOS 11 backup I previously made. Now I'm considering rolling back to iOS 10.3.3 using my older backup (nearly 1 month old). I will surely loose some data but maybe it's worth it.

I'm having trouble with random volume state change. When I put device in Ringer mode randomly it switches back to silent then ringer agaim with taptic vibration. This only happens it device is (the switch on the left side of the device) in Ringer mode. Device is iPhone 6s. And the problem came after I updated to iOS 11 beta 5. Anyone else?

I hope my switch is not broken :(

Anyone having trouble downloading apps haveing problems since beta 3 beta 4 fix it now problem back in beta 5 Btw Iphone 6s and also having trouble visting to some websites it’s weird

Noticing issues with mail fetch on the stock mail app. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I have two gmail accounts. I set it up for Fetch Automatically on my iPad and Every 15 minutes on my phone. The latter is a little more consistent, but still has issues.

Does anyone have experience in downgrading without a loss of data?

In former times (i.e. with iOS 10 beta) I downgraded by putting the iPhone in recovery-mode and installing the stable version as an "update" in iTunes. This worked quite well without loss of data or the need to recover any backup.

In beta 2 this didn't work, but I found a video on YouTube telling that exactly this should be possible now this way:
  1. Download 10.3.3 IPSW
  2. Turn off find my phone AND turn off passcode-protection and TouchID
  3. Put iPhone to recovery-mode (press vol- and power for > 10s)
  4. In iTunes option-click "update" and choose IPSW to update phone.
  5. Done.
Now, does this really work or will one be stuck in boot-loops? Anyone tested? If it works, I guess I might leave that beta behind me and roll back to 10.3.3. Though I got a 10.3.3 backup, that one is a few days old and will miss some data.

EDIT: This ist the video:
Ok, first of all, you will not be able to keep messages/data you received on iOS 11. The only legitimate way to go back is to Restore and completely start over with your old iOS 10 backup.

If you do Shift + Update from iOS 11 back to 10.3.3, you risk data corruption and some apps will be completely broken (such as Notes), + Messages database in iOS 11 is incompatible in iOS 10.3.3, so you will have to do a full restore in the end anyways.

Would you trust advice from a YouTuber with the name of "DankNationz" that doesn't know what he's talking about? You either have to tough it out through the end of the beta cycle or lose some data.

Does anyone faces, again, strange noises with the Taptic Engine? I was facing that problem in Public Beta 2, and now problem appears again.(but not so often)

I don't understand why people don't do a backup in iTunes of their current OS version before trying a beta.

It provides a completely risk-free way to go back to that version.

It's the first thing people recommend folks do, but they don't.

You got that totally wrong. Concerning my person I did that but it was before installing beta 3 and that‘s about one month ago. I used b3 and b4 since then and of course collected some new data. So, I could go back to my previous stable iOS 10 system, but anyway, this will mean loss of data.

Don't shoot the messenger, but maybe use it less? ;)

On a more serious note, check what's been eating your battery. That will be a great starting point.

This worked for me a little while ago. I noticed that the Tile app was using a lot of battery. I checked the Tile app website and found a note stating that their app can be unstable with iOS betas. So I uninstalled the app.

on that topic, Tile is getting really annoying. I have a Tile that still connects via bluetooth and has a green circle around it indicating that it still functions 100%, but I get giant red banners and notifications that I need to replace it just because it's been a year. talk about milking your customers.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did check, but my main battery drain is safari (40%), so I'm not sure that I can do anything about that. It's also in general just using up battery a lot quicker while on standby and in minimal usage situations. Didn't know if anyone had any ideas that might fix it. Appreciate the suggestions though!
