After using it for a few days now, I must say I'm kinda growing to like it. My only annoyance is that screen mirroring can't be removed. I don't know how widely used this feature is, but it's something I have never used and never plan to use either. I would much prefer to have something like low battery mode in place of it and not have an additional row with just one or two items.

It's indeed odd that that is locked to CC. Are there others you can't remove? I don't have a developer account so can't try.

Since I really like the screenshot feature, I’ll do it like this :)

The ones in the red box you can’t remove or even reposition. With the others you’re free to do what you want.

Thanks for confirming that. It's a shame you can't keep the CC as clean as you want it to be with only the things you want to see there. It's kind of customisable now, but not really :(

So it seems Airplane Mode is still always there on the Control Center.
That's a risk because if the iPhone gets stolen, the network can be turned off making it untraceable. Wonder why Apple prefers to keep it there and how often people use it? In my opinion even if it's a convenience, it's not worth the risk. At least give an option to show it once the phone is unlocked and hide it on the lock screen.

Well a concept and implementations are 2 different things. Any one can create a beautiful looking concept but to put it into practice a whole different ball game. Easy to be an armchair quarterback when you are not the one to implement it :)

There is literally nothing holding Apple back from implementing this. If one of the largest tech companies in the world cannot achieve this, then I have no confidence in any of their products.

Given their resources they can do practically anything with their software. The reason they aren’t is either laziness or lack of vision. There is no technical limitation on implementing anything.

For once Apple chooses function over form and people complain anyway. Yes the new one is ugly, but much easier to use.

Except when it takes multiple taps to get to the option you want.

I am not a fan of this design albeit it slightly more functional. It’s somewhat reminiscent of the ribbons in Office, or having item upon item hidden beneath layers.

Indeed that extra long press/3D Touch on certain things such as WIFI and Bluetooth to see the current device connected to or to switch between them is odd.

Trying to control HomeKit devices requires multiple taps as well.

It’s not faster than asking Siri at this pace.

I agree on iOS 11 they are horrible. On the video they look great. iOS team are becoming lazy...

iOS Jailbreak will become increasingly more useful once iOS 11 hits on all devices. There will certainly be tons of tweaks to adjust and improve control center.

It's a shame you can't reposition but it's still a massive update over last year, it needs polishing IMO (but then again i haven't tried it)

Can someone tell me how to activate airdrop?

I was able to use it without doing anything special to it. Just had my iPad and phone next to each other, and when I went to go share stuff. It prompted me and I was able to use it after. I haven’t done much with it, just airdropped pics and stuff back and forth.

I don't mind the looks of CC, what I do mind is that apparently they have to completely overhaul it every year. Just pick one design and stick with it.

You can disable Control Centre entirely when locked. Maybe not exactly what you want but still an option worth considering if you're security conscious. There've been a number of unlock bugs over the years accessed through Control Centre and other services like Siri.

Besides, if a thief wanted to stop tracking they need only turn it off and remove the SIM. Perhaps Apple should negotiate with carriers about letting SIM-less phones phone home to Apple to report their location. I suspect nowadays stolen iPhones are mainly just used for parts however.

Control centre is starting to grow on me. I felt it looked weird at the start, but after seeing it multiple times on YouTube, starts to feel like the new normal to me.

since i used the CC for days now, i love it, from functionality to the way it looks. im pretty sure until September even the looks will have some new teaks. Remember, Apple always changed the control centre looks since ios7 from beta 1 to the GM
[doublepost=1497787179][/doublepost]for now, they wanted just to take a look about the thinking and functionality of it

I can't find the settings to turn it on for all or only contacts and to turn it off. Am I blind?

Having Control Center is convenient even on the Lock screen..the only issue is with the Airplane Mode -apart from being a security risk, it also takes up precious real estate. I would prefer to have Low Power Mode or something else which I use frequently. Right now, it's like the first icon on CC is the one you use the least.
As for turning the phone off, Apple could could ask for authentication - password or TouchID before you shut it down and restart.
