Okay, so small update. After further observation, looks like I am actually getting the reported lag. A few frames drop when opening 3D Touch. Disappointing.

I'm seeing the 3D Touch lag as well. Not seeing a lag when closing apps on my 7+

If 3D Touch is laggy for you I'd recommend going to Apple and gettting your phone checked. Because its smooth as butter for me and I have the 7 Plus. Or do a factory restore of the iOS 11 betas.

Screen recording please. Another guy claimed this and proved that he was in fact seeing the issue everyone described, he just didn’t know what he was looking for.

Okay, let’s call this 3D Touch “lag” what it really is.

It’s a frame rate stutter about 75% into the opening animation. This is for 3D touching on an app.

Pretty sure everyone has that, but some folks may not notice, which is great for them. I’m sure it will be smoothed out by next spring.

Pretty insignificant issue imho as I’ve had many other issues like resprings (including beta 9) and freezing.

These updates are flying out, still seeing the force touch lag a little, but less as time is going on.

That’s the same guy lol

He's actually probably referring to my interaction with him in the Beta 8 thread. I posted a video in response to him in that thread showing there was no delay in registering the 3d touch input (as the case had been in Betas 1-4), and figured out that he was talking about the frame rate stutter of the animation itself. I had noticed it but just didn't consider a few dropped frames to be a bug that's the complete deal-breaker that others consider it to be.

I think the disconnect in people saying they have it and those that say they don't is that some are referring to the lag that used to be present where the 3d touch took 1-2 seconds to register and there are others who are referring to the lag as the animation being a bit jittery but otherwise being fine.

significant lag on phone app in inputting numbers....(reported)

the "shared links" (i.e. the pseudo rss reader for safari) is gone in b9 still there in 10.3.3 (iPad) and on my mbp (10.12.6)

For the people who are having issues with 3D Touch, what setting is your 3D Touch set to? Is it Soft, Medium, or Firm? I was having issues when my was set to Firm. I turned 3D Touch off, then back on, and set it to Medium. Issues seems to be gone, as far as I can tell. No more grey boxes and stutters.

At this point, iOS 11 is complete. This b9 with minor build string changes will go to factory for pressing on NAND in iPhones 8/7S
All this stutter/lag will remain till we make more noise about it.

To sum it up,
1. iOS 11 is not a major milestone.
2. Files app is a disappointment. Why it is even there? wasting space....
3. Changes have been made for the sake of change.
4. We might get used to the iPad’s hybrid dock/multi tasking.
5. iPad 10.5 “gliding on butter” smoothness present on iOS 10.3.3 is significantly reduced on iOS 11 B9.
6. Dat Facetime audio call connecting sound! Feels like floating fat man farting underwater.
7. 3D touch multi-tasking removed.
8. Stuttering animations on all devices.
9. Selecting and Copying text in Safari is still a nightmare. Selection jumps all over the screen.
10. Random UI glitches like no lockscreen wallpaper, black wallpaper during call, keyboard jumping up and down, getting stuck.

and many more.
If I have to go back to iOS 10.3.3, I actually won’t miss any feature. But why go back? We love everything latest even if it is riddled with bugs right? Exactly. So I ain’t going back.

...and one more thing
11. iOS 11 still does not have a dark mode.

Hey uh Apple....I have a perfectly functioning iPhone 7 Plus running beta software and it’s not buttery smooth on 3D Touch like some forum commenter said it should be, can you fix it?

Please. Many other people are having this same issue. Either you are incredibly lucky and have the best iPhone 7 Plus or you can’t see it.

I think it’s mostly complete. Apple still has some things it hasn’t shown us software wise, most of not all probably exclusive to the iPhone 8. Also iMessages in iCloud and Apply Pay in iMessage has yet to launch either. So there’s still *some* stuff left.

Agreed. It really is very insignificant issue and nothing to really complain about. Had it been an ‘actual’ lag of 1-3 seconds, it would be justifiable reason.
These people are just looking for things to complain about. It’s pathetic really.

Somebody already checked if iMessage bug is fixed? So when somebody sends you a iMessage that the first notification is automatically labeled as read? Is this fixed?
