Running surprisingly well, I have not really noticed a difference from iOS 10, in fact its maybe a little smoother, but that could be a placebo effect. Well worth the upgrade, it makes the iPad a totally different beast. I had a few stutters to start but its fine now.
I would echo this. I have been pleasantly surprised that my iPad Air 2 is running smoothly with iOS 11. The upgrade was painless.

I have noticed a couple apps crash. I noticed that while I was holding the iPad in portrait mode, when I opened Mail it was displayed in Landscape. I needed to quit the app and then relaunch. I have not been able to drag selected text from Safari to Pages or Notes. I recall seeing that functionality in a demo video a couple months ago.

Is anyone able to use the "recent files" on the iPad Air 2? This means that when you press a little longer on the files app, or any other, on the dock, a list of "recent files" should pop up. This doesn't work on mine. I'm also finding tons of glitches in the widgets. I can't even scroll through without it opening up the apps altogether and the "Maps Transit" app doesn't work at all.

Works for me. Thanks for the tip, superb :)

My iPad Air 2 has been updated with most current beta of iOS for a while. iOS11 seems generally a bit slower - maps take longer to render, cut and paste in Pages is definitely slow compared with before. Google maps sometimes quits unexpectedly. I don't think there are really significant differences in the system from iOS10. The dock is a slight convenience. Split screen has limited use on a small screen.
On the plus side, the on-screen keyboard, Pages and Numbers have improved and can do much more than before. And Airdrop works every time. The battery usage is about the same.

Tried ios 11 for a couple of days. Minor stutters here and there but overall pretty smooth. But obviously not as smooth as 10.3.3. I decided to go back to 10.3.3 at least for another six months. Or maybe forever. The biggest problem with ios 11 at this point is that ipad air 2 no longer feels like a new device.

I agree, it stutters here and there. My 5s runs better on iOS11! But you have additional functionality like drag and drop. Hope it will get better in next major updates.

Has anyone noticed a delay when you open apps from the home screen? Even after a clean install and restore from backup, there's a noticeable 1-2 second delay after tapping the icon before it actually does anything.

I have the iPad Pro 9.7, but I just upgraded my wife’s iPad Air 2 to iOS 11. Like you, I saw a few stutters initially, but everything is now smooth out. Seems like a great upgrade, and the battery life seems to be very good as well.

It works great on the iPad Air 2! iOS 11 doesn't work that well on my 6s though.

Curiosity got the better of me, and I updated my air 2. It might be a little slower, or maybe that's my imagination. The new features for iPad are very nice though. Probably worth the upgrade overall. Won't be upgrading my iPhone, as the benefits seem considerably less, and I rely on it a lot more than I do my iPad.

I had it for a day or two on my Air2, but decided to go back to 10.3.3 for performance and stability reasons. Garageband refused to start anymore, and the performance in Cubasis was really bad (could not play back a project that was perfectly fine in 10.3.3). I am pretty sure the overall GUI performance is better in 10.3.3 (less stutters).

I share that feeling.

Look at that - I just received an email from WALTR 2, that I tried out as a trial days ago. Does this mean you can convert in HEVC/h.265 and play it on your Ipad air 2 if running iOS 11??

I think that apps launch slower, and some things, like the five-finger app minimization gesture, are really jerky.

I may go back to 10.3.3. I totally understand the benefits of iOS 11 for people doing some kind of tasks on an iPad, but i am mostly either reading or viewing, and the new features aren't a big plus for my personal use.

It’s absolutely fantastic on my iPad Air 2. I feel like I got a brand new iPad.

Upgraded OTA from iOS 9. Surprised to see it actually runs smoother now than before.

1. I very late to the topic, but ios11 is running great on my Air 2.

2. I apologize for the off topic question, but I love the iOS Dock allowing more apps. Could someone tell me if the iPhone 8 or iPhone X will allow more apps in the dock too?

The only issue I’ve had with my Air 2 is that it sometimes stops charging the battery (adapters and cables are standard Apple issue). I can unplug the power cord and plug it back in and it resumes charging. Otherwise, I don’t notice any problems and find the new dock to be useful.
