The only issue I’ve had with my Air 2 is that it sometimes stops charging the battery (adapters and cables are standard Apple issue). I can unplug the power cord and plug it back in and it resumes charging. Otherwise, I don’t notice any problems and find the new dock to be useful.
it happens on 10.3.3 too

Look at that - I just received an email from WALTR 2, that I tried out as a trial days ago. Does this mean you can convert in HEVC/h.265 and play it on your Ipad air 2 if running iOS 11??
Yes. iOS11 introduces software HEVC decode for all hardware not supporting hardware decode.

iPad Air 2 is running ok with ios11 but for two things. Re-charging from the wall socket is a lot slower - like several hours slower than before. Ive tried plugging in the iPad before turning on the power (as suggested somewhere) but improvement negligible. iPhone 8+ recharges more quickly than iPhone 6+ And the keyboard has changed, each key has two sets of symbols now. I did a clean install of ios11 but keyboard still the same. I can live with it but if there was an easy roll back to ios10 I’d take it.

I have had the beta on my air and the gm for a long time. There were bugs in earlier versions but it runs fine for the most part.

Can confirm this was happening on our Air 2. Called Apple to check battery and said the battery was in incredible shape. I hard reset it and then reset all settings. Havent had the issue since.

iOS 11 running great here on Air 2.

Just my everyday struggles...
  • Screen does not always rotate back to portrait mode
  • Text copy and paste sometimes unresponsive
  • Some controls don’t respond to tap particularly when on the edge or corners of the screen
  • It’s slooooooooooow! Opening apps (Spotify) take 10-15 seconds!
  • Battery indicator shows wrong battery charge - sometimes it screams about only 20% left than after plugging in it jump to 50%.
But the biggest offender: battery life. It’s dramatically worst. Sometimes I lose 30% in an hour without touching my iPad. I can see location services arrow on my screen 24/7 now. Closing apps doesn't help. I blame that.

Battery life comment is interesting. I'm actually seeing slightly better battery life on 11.0 than I did on 10.3.3.

i updated 3 days ago on ipad air 2, i can notice a small bit of lag when opening apps sometimes, my battery life seems the same, i was worried about losing battery life but it seems the same luckily, notice a couple of bugs with the new control centre - hopefully a new update for bug fixes wont be far away

just installed the new bug fix update 11.0.1, and its sorted my app store bug, its now gone. the swipe up control centre bug still exists though, still slight lag with opening apps, better than 11.0.0 for sure, only been 30 mins tho!

While we're talking battery life, I do think I gave up battery life going from iOS 9 to iOS 10 on the Air 2. 11 vs 10 I still think is a wash, based on running iOS 11 since it was released to the public.

Thanks IOP, i did a backup to August 21st on iTunes this morning but ios 11 is back.
Here's the tutorial I followed to roll back to ios 10.3.3: http://www.redmondpie.com/how-to-downgrade-ios-11-beta-to-ios-10.3.2-10.3.3-tutorial/

You need to download the ipsw file for ios 10.3.3, turn off "find my ipad" and put the device in the recovery mode. Once it's detected in itunes, hold "option" key and click "restore" in itunes. It will install ios 10.3.3, the device will restart, and itunes will offer to restore from the backup. It will take 15 min or so in total.

I think that apps launch slower, and some things, like the five-finger app minimization gesture, are really jerky.

I may go back to 10.3.3. I totally understand the benefits of iOS 11 for people doing some kind of tasks on an iPad, but i am mostly either reading or viewing, and the new features aren't a big plus for my personal use.
I agree on the five-finger minimization but it is not enough to make me go back to 10.3.3.

Must be true here, too, since I archived a 10.3.3 backup and downloaded the .ispw to restore, but haven't!

I don't use most of the new features, and I'm not crazy about how multi-tasking works in 11, but the enlarged dock works really well for my uses and is probably why I haven't rolled back.

Well...I think I'm going to go back to iOS 10.3.3 on my Air 2 (and then probably the Mini 4, too). I was using my wife's Air 2 this morning and it is so much more fluid, so much smoother. The jerkiness and stuttering are a background annoyance, but still an annoyance.

My iPad Air 2 is running fine with iOS 11, performance and battery is OK. Opening Apps on my iPhone 6 Plus is extremely slow compared to iOS 10.3.3 and battery around 20% weaker.

Loaded iOS 11 on Air 2 and started having some issues. I would be reading something in News and it would arbitrarily shut down and go back to the home screen. Same thing with Facebook but not as often. Downloaded the newest update this morning (11.0.1) and did not experience the problems this morning.
