Ok, so after 12.1 Siri is not responding after launching a shortcut.

Ex. I have a shortcut setup to launch Waze on the way to work and also my favorite playlist.

The shortcut executes flawlessly, but once I try to interact with Siri thereafter, she will not respond, no matter how loud or many times I say "hey Siri"

This is ANNOYING, so I definitely can't wait for 12.1.1 to drop!!!

Anyone else have problems with mail downloading new mail taking forever and also not getting notifications or checking for new mail without opening Mail first?

Has the double tone when plugging into a fast charger been dropped?

I remember it went a while ago but could have sworn it came back. Don’t use my fast charger that often so can’t confirm.

Yes, it came back and then was dropped for newer iPhone. I do still get it on my older devices like SE and 6S but not on my Max.

I don’t have Apple USB C power bricks but I do have Apple USB C to Lightning cables. I have never gotten my XS or Max to double tone using a variety of “Power Delivery” spec’ed charging bricks with the Apple cables; however, doing timed tests when my devices were at 5% they definitely charged at the “fast charging” rates. I went from 5% to 60% in 30 minutes. A 5w or 12w charger could not charge that fast.

I’m getting “Cannot Connect to App Store” when searching for any apps. Certain app will show up but most apps will get that error.

I’m using the regular 5w adapter and charging cable. It use to double vibrate to indicate a faster charging with Max but now only the older devices like my SE and 6S. It wouldn’t be as fast but the device can negotiate a slightly faster rate than normal.

Both my X and the XS Max would double tone when I plugged into my fast charger (Apple 29w adapter and Apple USB-C - Lightning cable). But it’s stopped now.

On another note I put the phone on my wireless charger last night and despite it saying it was charging all night it only went to 47%

Tried restarting to see if it was just the level misreporting.

Plugged into my fast charger and it’s gone to 75% in the last 20 mins. I put it back on the wireless charger for circa 5mins and it went up 3%. So not sure what happened with it.

Something definitely amiss, phone is currently saying it is 97% charged but Coconut is saying it's one 93% charged

Had a major failure yesterday using iMessage. I had sent a message containing a picture. I clicked the symbol to get back to the keyboard and the phone froze and the screen went black apart from the home bar at the bottom. Which was a dark grey. I thought I’d accidentally opened the camera from iMessage.
Have had iMessage turn black quite a few times. Force closing it always work though.

Is anyone else having issues with deleting emails?

I’m deleting emails only to have them reappear in my inbox a few mins later. I’ve even gone to the trouble of deleting, then going into the deleted mail box and permanently deleting the emails. But they still come back and it’s taking a few attempts for the mail to actually delete.

This happens even when I just come out of the app and leave it running in the background.

I’ve tried other mail apps in the past like Spark, Airmail and Outlook. But I prefer the simplicity of iOS Mail.

Out of all of those the only one that seems to work properly is Outlook.

I still have a problem where if I read a email on my iPhone it still shows up as unread on the lock screen of my IPP. Both are running the same iOS version.

If I use outlook this doesn’t happen. Yet it’s been happing with mail since iOS 9!

Does anyone know of any settings which will solve these two issues or am I just going to have to live with it or use another email app?

Yes I had the same problem! I would delete the email and once I received a new email the deleted email would come back.

I ended up deleting the email account and added it in again. Which stopped my issue of the deleted email coming back.

Is that with iCloud email account?

???

You won't get faster charging with a 5W charging brick. Not sure how you got the double ding.

Some say the double tone was generated by the initial charge signal and then the phone (fast charging capable phones) telling the charger it could accept a higher wattage and hence when the power brick switched wattages, the second tone would get generated by the phone.

I am thinking now that power bricks and/or phones do this a lot faster and hence no more double tone ... OR ... the double tone has been removed.

I think the tone has been removed as my wife has my iPhone X and I haven’t changed the charger (Apple 29W and Apple cable).

Neither the X or Max does it anymore.

Anyone with display brightness issues?

I have been having this issue for a while, since ios 12.0 beta, but didn't report it back then. I just didn't think much of this issue.

I have everything turned off in Device Accommodations, however, with my brightness setting on the highest, there are times when the screen would dim for a while and then goes back to the high brightness. Shifting the knob on brightness when the screen dims (through settings or control center) will not make the screen bright again. It goes back to the low dim state that was automatically adjusted at the highest brightness level setting.

I hope I'm making sense here with my explanations.

My iPhone X does the same thing.
