It appears to show a ghost keyboard character - as if the keyboard is supposedly to be there?

Very temperamental - can’t say it happens all the time. 1 in every 40 or so unlock.

I just wanted to ask about that. Is that fixed in the latest beta? Because for me this bug still persists in 12.2. on iPhone XS and it is so annoying.

Annoyances are annoying on any device for which an OS update is available no matter how old the device, but to have annoyances on a flagship device is something else.
