Just installed on my XS and ran the Speedtest. The LTE download speed improved, but the upload still lags. I got 52Mbps/1.48Mbpd on VZW. Wifi was good and still good.

Not fast enough to even consider a soon full release version. DB and PB must be realeased at the same time, at least once, before the final release is available. It’s a measure that has always worked before...
yeah, but I think we're on track for a release about the time the Xr (and likely new iPads) hit the market in 11 days.

iPhone XS Max on Verizon. Just updated from 12.0.1 to 12.1.b4.

In an area with notoriously spotty coverage, my LTE download & upload speeds are not awesome but acceptable, and higher with 12.1 beta 4 than I was getting with 12.0.1.

One thing I noticed: installing beta 4 turned on "background app refresh" for all of my apps. Previously, I'd turned it off for over half of them to save battery life.

Because it’s an iPhone and it won’t do that?
I think the post was from an Apple Watch Series 4 user. The functionality of the Watch depends on the apps and OS installed on the associated iPhone.

ECG won’t depend on an iPhone os update. Very little Apple Watch funtionality depends on iPhone os version nowadays, in fact.

Thanks for the info on the background app refresh.

Experiencing a new problem here coinciding with the installation of Beta 4 and usage of Halide: With iCloud Photo Library activated, alongside Download and Keep Originals, iCloud is re-downloading previously deleted photos. These were deleted from the Recently Deleted album, and thus should be cleared completely.

This happened immediately after installing Beta 4, and again hours later. Reported before posting!

I must be in the minority or maybe it's just me, but I haven't noticed any network speed issues on my XS Max on 12.0.1 or 12.0 or my X on 12.0, both with T-Mobile. Granted I haven't done any speed tests, but in day to day usage every seems to working as it always has. Is it a 12.1 specific issue?

I have a X on iOS 12 beta 3, and haven’t experienced any of the issues everyone is having in my day to day usage.

I've just updated to this beta 4 for the first time on iOS 12.1 betas. I'll test it out in the UK and see how it goes. Sat here at 0142 hrs, my 4G speedtest was rather awesome at 102 Mbps down and 27.8Mbps up. That's 2x the speed of my broadband for download and 9x faster for uploads!. LOL. That is because it is almost 2am and I am lucky to live in a very good 4G area right here.
I need to go back to a couple of places I had poor signals, etc and see how it behaves now.

Running smooth and snappy on 8 plus, so far so good. I started having some stuttering in beta 3 the last couple of days so hoping this does better

Just installed the new beta and still no go on CarPlay. It has been rock solid since I bought my car in March.
Now since beta 3, nothing.

I'm guessing there is no way to get back to 12.01 without a full restore? I don't want to synch 20k songs again to my phone.

You guys complaining about LTE speed...it sounds like something you need to talk to your carrier about...I’ve done speed tests with every beta and never had an issue, this is my last Speedtest with beta 4.
