New Features & Changes
New Issues
Remaining Issues

  • Lock screen orientation glitch in the Control Center: If you have screen orientation lock enabled, and then change the state of "Increase Contrast" in Settings, for example enable it, your lock orientation icon will be fully white instead of red.
  • Some apps like Google Maps and Clash Royale will lag on iPhone X and above: Open the affected app, for example Google Maps. Do not do anything else, just minimize your brightness to the lowest. Now, you will see the app's FPS number has been drastically decreased, try to do circles in the map, you will see it is laggy. To make it smooth again, you can: A) Start screen recording or B) Increase brightness.
  • Folder in Dock bug - swipe to widgets and then back to home screen: it will blink.
  • Grouped notifications glitch - Expand, collapse and then expand again a grouped notification quickly, it will have a glitchy animation.
  • Text in the home bar in apps such as WhatsApp, FB Messenger and MyFitness Pal will glitch when swiping between screens causing the text to become closer together
  • On an iPhone X, XS, and XS Max, if your home screen have multiple pages, go to a different page other than main, then swipe up to get to your main page. After you quickly want to open anything in the Dock, you can't, you need to wait a few seconds to be able to do it.
  • Lock screen time & lock status glitch: using your locked iPhone, swipe from right to left two times quickly. For the second swipe, your time and lock status will disappear.
  • Notification center missing background: Lock and unlock your phone. Then open an app, and quickly pull down the notification center. It won't have background for a few seconds.
  • Landscape mode control center bug: Open anything in landscape mode, for example a YouTube video in full screen. Open your Control Center, swipe from right to left, then close CC. There will be a stuck bar at the top of your screen for a few seconds.
  • App crash bug: Open the app switcher. Tap on an app, swipe it up to close, but while its closing tap on it - > glitchy crash.
  • Adding the first widget in the available widgets list will have a glitchy animation.
  • Safari: "add to home screen" - when there is just one home screen, it does not show the recently added icon. It does create a 2nd home screen page but when you swipe left the icon is missing. After a reboot or waiting for several minutes, the icon may appear.
  • Phone app UI glitch: Start a call, go to the home screen and then back to the call - > the background will be gone.
  • Since iOS 11.4 still can’t initiate ‘album’ playback via Siri on the watch with music that is locally stored on phone.
  • When iCloud Keychain and text replacements are enabled, text replacement won’t be offered anymore when trying to login. The specific text replacement is overwritten with “Password”.
Resolved Issues
Additional Notes

  • Certain apps may not be fully compatible with iOS 12. Contact developer for support. See list of current compatible apps.
  • If you experience Setting crashes, it may be due to removal of stock apps.

Typically an x.X release doesn't have a GM. So potentially beta 5 will be the release version.
It cant tho the build number is to big and with a letter for release so must be another build hopefully public release next week

246mb for my XS.

Not following you exactly unless you are speaking of the '5' and the 'b'. Those can be dropped so 16B5089b becomes 16B89 for final. That happened in 11.4 (15F5079a beta 6 and 15F79 release) and 11.4.1 (15G5077a beta 5 and 15G77 release) Also in iOS 12.0 (16A5366a beta 11 and 16A366 release). The 5 just indicates its a beta build and the letter is simply the revision of that particular build. They just never include the build revision letter in the release versions. But who really knows. We could have a beta 6 too. Hopefully this one helps with the cellular issues for the newer devices though.

There’s been two post of file size and those were done before the first post was changed to a wiki.

Have any of you seen any camera performance improvements for the XS models in iOS 12.1 (vs 12.0.1)? Like better HDR? or better portrait mode?

Anyone want to take the bet that this is the GM next week, provided no show stopping bugs? They'll drop the letter and a few numbers.
