If I’m not mistaken, from iOS 11 the Bluetooth icon only told you Bluetooth was on, not whether or not it was connected to a device. So nothing lost in terms of seeing whether you're connect to a device or not.

You are mistaken. In ios 11 it was possible to differ if the bluetooth icon was connected or not to a device.

Only if the device supported a special icon such as battery level or headphone icon. And THAT is still there in iOS 12. See the paragraph following that one which you cut out. Please let me know if I’m still mistaken.

There is nothing to see in the next paragraph about ios 11 :)
I clarify about the special icons and say nothing has changed in iOS 12, thus describing iOS 11 behaviour too.

Go back to the original person who said you’re no longer able to see when you are connected to a Bluetooth device in iOS 12. I am saying: if you don’t see an icon in the status bar in iOS 12 when connected to a device, that means the device doesn’t support a special icon, and that means even in iOS 11 you wouldn’t know whether you were connected to that device or not. You’d only see the Bluetooth icon which says Bluetooth is on.

To summarise, the change made to iOS 12 is around ability to see if Bluetooth is off or on, not ability to see if it’s connected to a device or not.

Do we chalk this up as an iOS 12 bug or just another “Activity App, who knows?” bug in a long string of Activity App bugs?

Edit: I’m on wOS 4

Did Apple remove the ability for Siri to state the battery percentage and toggle Night Shift?

Yep. This is not my first rodeo... which is why I’m not concerned about the battery life. It’s totally enough to get me through the day, and will only get better with GM and beyond.
Well said. I get so tired of people squawking about battery life because they can’t leave their phone sitting overnight and wake up within 3% of what they had going to bed or plug in at the end of the day with >60%.

Why do you need that? Why don’t people charge while they sleep? I’ve never been able to grasp this and probably never will.

Has anybody having problems with the YouTube app , videos stop playing sometimes I’m 100% is not my connection

This is what I do. Usually lasts me all day and then I plug it in and charge it overnight while I sleep. Need the alarm in the morning anyway so I leave it plugged in. But lately I’ve had to charge it twice instead of just the one time overnight. I don’t know if it’s my usage since I read Reddit A LOT or if it’s just your normal beta stuff. It’s probably because I read way too much. :p

No harm in using low power mode all the time flick it on immediately after a full charge and see how long your battery lasts

So as any regular of this thread probably knows by now, I’ve been VERY pleased with how the latest iteration performs on my X. I’ve been very fortunate to not be plagued by most of the bugs people have been reporting. Just yesterday (a few posts back) I was talking about how I feel iOS 12 is ready for GM....

And then today happened.

I always have Waze open while I drive. Been doing it the same for years. All of a sudden, my head unit (Alpine double-din, CarPlay capable but I choose not to use it) acts like I’m on a call as soon as I open Waze. It has my phone number and my name underneath a timer that starts as soon as I open it. It completely locks me out of any other functionality of the radio until I disconnect my phone or put Waze to sleep. There was a Waze update two days back so I’m assuming it has something to do with that.

On top of that, my sounds have been really inconsistent lately. I’ve seen people talk about a 500% increase in their system sound volume but my issue is the opposite. More often than not I can’t hear them unless I have my phone up by my ear. Volume is at full in settings and if I hit the volume rocker on the home screen. Sometimes the lock sound won’t even play.

Has anybody/is anybody experiencing either of these lately?

I’ve had something like this happen to me with an audio source on my iPhone 7 and my radio (car play Kenwood double-DIN, and I do use CarPlay), although not for a while. I think it last happened during iOS 11 days. There was definitely something where the radio thought I was in a phone call using the radio’s UI, but it was not a phone call but an application’s audio stream and/or microphone access.

For sure Waze and audio from other apps don’t seem to play very well together when connected to a car radio, I’ve seen other oddities with muting on the audio until Waze returns to the foreground, both on iOS 11 and 12.

Jesus. Finally.

Can’t believe it took them three years to do that. That’s how everything should’ve been when the service first launched.

I cannot access the trackpad mode with 3D touch many times, especially when using Safari. If I try it at the end of the text, it mostly doesn't work, I have to touch a previous word to move the cursor so that I can 3d-touch to access trackpad.

Why do you need to go onto Airplane mode to activate WiFi calling? My school is underground and I lose service and it auto connects to WiFi Calling.

I’m constantly losing and gaining a signal. It drains my battery so I disable it all together and just rely on Wi-Fi calling.

Lol yeah agree but it randomly rolled out because it wasn’t there when first updated. Kinda reminds me of the rest of iOS 12 where everything is slowly being “rebuilt as needed”.

Looks a lot better and playlists artwork are also larger in For You.

Awesome. I’m still sticking with Spotify, but glad to see that Apple Music is starting to take care of its many glaring issues.

I’m having a really annoying time with my ringtones/alert tones on the latest beta. iOS isn’t playing my selected tones. I’ve tried several restarts. I bought them from the iTunes Store and ones I made in garage band, none of them work. Text tones for the Message app are all “Note”. I even have some contacts with custom alert tones but those don’t work either.

I can’t even change the tones to other ones bundled in iOS, ALWAYS NOTE. lol

Any others having this problem? Any suggestions besides restoring my phone as new?

When you say you've tried a restart, do you mean you've turned the phone off/on or you've done a soft reset? If not, do that. Hold power and home buttons together - phone will turn off and back on again. When you see the Apple logo on restart, let go of the buttons.

Sorry, I mean I’ve done a soft reset. It’s been a few days now (I think since Thursday or Friday) and I’ve tried it at least once a day.

I’ve re-downloaded all of my previous tones through the settings and they all play when I select them, but not when a message is received. It’s not a huge thing, it just annoys me that I can’t seem to fix what seems to be a small problem. Lol
