I think you keep forgetting that people have to apply for the card. Approval can be instant, or it could take 7-10 business days, like every other credit card. In addition it then takes a week to receive the physical card. So transactions will be down until people actually get the card, because ApplePay is still not accepted everywhere. It wouldn’t be unprecedented for it to be released Friday, iOS 12.3 was release just three days after the last beta. But it’s really anyone’s guess. I’ll say this though, Apple Card being released on a weekend will give a boost to the “first day transactions” Tim Cook will boast about on the earnings call.

The number Apple is more likely to show off is how many people applied for the card.
Source? No credit card is guaranteed instant approval. If you fall within a certain credit range it goes up the ladder for further determination.Apple Card approval is instant.
I forget exactly where I saw Apple say that I think it’s during the keynote somewhere. But this Macworld article says that Apple said approval is within minutes -Source? I'm willing to bet thats for well-qualified applicants. Goldman Sachs is not just going to go around giving everyone a credit card. Its Goldman Sachs that will be running credit checks and approving, not Apple. There is absolutely no way a sub-600 credit score is going to get instant approval. Thats just not how it works.I forget exactly where I saw Apple say that I think it’s during the keynote somewhere. But this Macworld article says that Apple said approval is within minutes -

I think you missed what I was getting at. The number of transactions is not a good number to boast, as there are many limiting factors. The number of applicants is a number to boast because it shows popularity. More people will apply than get approved, it's a way to make the numbers look better.Well I’m glad mine is 759, lol
You said it’s instant approval for well qualified applicants, and that they’re not going to approve people with low credit scores. What did I miss?I think you missed what I was getting at. Just like when they boast how many devices they sold, not how many are being used (of each specific device). Otherwise it would account for returns.
