I think you keep forgetting that people have to apply for the card. Approval can be instant, or it could take 7-10 business days, like every other credit card. In addition it then takes a week to receive the physical card. So transactions will be down until people actually get the card, because ApplePay is still not accepted everywhere.

The number Apple is more likely to show off is how many people applied for the card.

I found the exact quote from the Jennifer Bailey during the Keynote-

“You don’t have to wait days to get your card. Just sign up on your iPhone, and in just minutes you get your Apple Card and you can start using it right away”.

I already address this in my first post. If they don't accept ApplePay, the Apple Card will not work without a physical card. That has nothing to do with instant approval.

More places accept Apple Pay than do not. I think it’s literally been months since I’ve been somewhere that doesn’t accept it.

Also, you’ll still get an on device number that you can enter on any website, even if they don’t accept Apple Pay.

Just because most places you visit accept ApplePay doesn't mean it's that way for others. Less than 50% of the places I go accept ApplePay, additional, I don't know of a single restaurant that does. So, until the card is physically available, transactions will be limited. Thats just the nature of the game.

I noticed the beta profile for 12.4 seems to be removed from beta.apple.com. Wonder if this implies an imminent release? - EDIT - never mind...its still there

Those that guessed A as in Wednesday are just about out of time. I'm still feeling tomorrow (Thursday) for some reason. I think those back to school buyers need something to pay with.

Release today
Sources are required if you are claiming facts.

With Apple disabling Walkie Talkie on the Apple Watch, I seriously doubt we are getting updates this week. If anything, another round of betas.

Oh and the fact that we don’t get a beta and final release in the same calendar week.

Wouldn't you expect that the majority of people who apply for the Apple Card are going to be people who regularly use Apple Pay though?
[doublepost=1562875684][/doublepost]I'm pretty confident on a Monday release.

I regularly use Apple Pay. Its just not offered at 50% of the places that I shop. I personally would define 50% as a regular use. I use it on a daily basis. But the most attractive part of the card to me is the daily cash back. So I plan on signing up for it.
