There will only be 5 beta's this year. Today B3 and then it will be 18 day gaps at minimum and 5 will be GM.
[doublepost=1530628949][/doublepost]O and holidays.... Are you kidding me? The Apple inner team doesn't get a day off in times like these.

how would they know ahead of time how many betas there will be? the whole point of beta's is to identify and patch bugs... There is no way of knowing ahead of time how many bugs will be identified, and how many will be serious enough to require a new beta. I've never heard of a tech company setting a number of betas beforehand. Beta testing is by its very nature unpredictable.

Then again I work in finance so what do I know lol.

Actually, a lot has been pre-determined. GM is already being worked on. Beta works very different than you imagine. And let's not forgot that Ios12 is a very different kind of upgrade than previous years.

Sure hope you aren't a legitimate Apple employee thinking you can get away with leaking information. Certainly not worth your job/career.

That said, I think you're full of it. ;)

Madscotsman...<cough, cough> I mean AppleAstronaut has already weighed in, but to elaborate, I think Apple has each and every beta already scheduled all the way out to GM. As has been noted in other threads, they are likely 2-4 builds ahead internally to what they have publicly released, so they already have a pretty good sense of what the issues will be before they release. Don't forget, a big part of the Developer Preview is allowing developers to build apps against it. The bug squashing is probably less important (though certainly not unimportant).

Resolve the GPS issue (and with the watch) and I’d say iOS 12 is in a pretty damn good state, so a reduced number of betas this year seems plausible.
Time will tell!

Cute. If you would only know.

You'd be surprised.

If the beta doesn’t come out today, with the GPS fix as you said it will have, what will you say? Just curious.

But, perhaps in an hour from now you’ll look more reliable! Time will tell :D

What I'm hoping for in Beta 3:
GPS fix
Carplay fix
Annoying black squares on lock screen fix

I hate that even I am giving this AppleAstronaut guy attention, but this account has all the makings of some random person taking a ‘safe bet’ and trying to get attention.

The odds are at least good that a beta will come out today, and even if it did, you can point to the iOS Release history as evidence of that likelihood. In the event this beta doesn’t come out, wed see this one-day old account disappear. It’s an attention grab with no repercussion. It’s all anonymous so there’s no risk
