You have a 8+if I remember well , what phone do you switch for? Xs Max I guess?

Surprisingly Xs. I was torn. I bought the X last year, and didn't like it. I didn't like the narrow screen and wasn't willing to give up the home button. This year, don't really have a choice on the latter. But as to the size, I couldn't justify the larger device. Both for price and usability.

I use my iPhone 8 Plus one-handed, without a problem. The larger screen will make it almost impossible to access control center one-handed, plus no reachability. I think for ease of transition, the smaller device is the better choice for myself. If I hate it, well I can upgrade again in a year with the IUP and it will be a lesson learned.

I went from a 7+ to a X and now Xs Max , but you're right I hope the control center won't be too hard to reach , even if I have big hands. We'll see that soon anyway.

Wait I’m confused... is the 12.1 beta expected tomorrow or 12.0.1? Or is the latter going to be a quick public release update?

X.0.1 releases usually hit in the first week and aren't beta tested.

I went through almost exactly the same thought process and reached the same result. I just can't justify the extra $200 for the Max.

We don't know the answer to either of those questions. We're hoping for a x.0.1 update to fix some of the bugs that have remained into the GM/public release, but we don't know for sure if they're coming. Past history leads us to think there may be a 12.1 beta soonish, but we don't know for sure.

Yeah i done a clean install for my ocd as well haha i have watch os 5 gm as well its good but cant wait for series 4 on friday, today im more excited to be able to call using my homepods not long to go now

How do you guys set up a new iPhone? Do you clean install the IOS or just use the factory IOS?

It doesn't work nearly as well. The double tap of the home button was extremely easy.

I think a good chance we see it today. But, sheesh, people, dial back the enthusiasm a bit! Some of you are like kids on Christmas morning who open all their presents and want to know what they're getting for their birthday...
