When you toggle that slider, you'll get a message that it may affect your Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and UWB performance, but it's nice to know the option is there if needed. >>>

Since the last beta, this toggle is available.

I disabled the Chip on my iPhone 11 Pro (using the Beta) and didn't have any issues with Bluetooth and Wifi. Both are working as expected. Regarding WiFi and Bluetooth I can only imagine that Location Services (like BT Beacons or Indoor Wifi Mapping) won't work so accurat now- but i've never used those things before, so i can't twll.

For me the toggle is working great. I turned it off because the location arrow which constantly pops up was annoying me.

I've read about the privacy concerns and i'm happy to have the opportunity now to turn the Chip off and on as i like- what i didn't like was the fact that Apple was trying to hide it before.

Can anyone confirm the remarks of Apple on the feedback reports for any of the bugs which are stated in the release notes as resolved? Have they mentioned them as resolved in the related bug reports as well?

I don’t know why it has been persistent for some people and not for others. I use the 11 Pro and the arrow goes away as soon as I switch to a watch face that doesn’t have a Weather complication or if I turn off the location for weather altogether. It has never showed up for me for anything else.

I think because we're all using our phones totally different, having different apps installed, different settings configured, different accessoires attached. This makes it sometimes so difficult to figure out what other users may experience on their phones. Anyway, let's not continue the "location arrow discussion", because there is a whole other thread for this :)

Mail seems better to me, the little last minute merge of duplicate inbox items doesn’t happen like it used to. Notifications also reflect what I actually see when I open Mail and I don’t get that “Checking for mail” wait time before it actually updates with new inbox items anymore. Also not receiving the “account error” when manually pulling downing and refreshing. I have iCloud and Outlook merged.

Sadly, I guarantee you it’s too early to confirm that. I also guarantee it will start playing up again. The mail app is simply a PoS written by absolutely inept and incompetent Apple developers.

They have had months and months and months to sort out these issues and have absolutely failed on too many counts.

First impression on my iPhone 7: snappy and more responsive with less RAM management issues.

However, mail still seems broken. I don’t get periodic notifications and I have to go to the app, swipe down, then I see new emails.

I’ll report back if battery drain has been fixed or not.

iPad 11 pro and iPhone x both feel a lot quicker. Hopefully battery will be better too but will have to wait and see.

I'm still seeing the same battery drain in standby on my 2018 11" iPad Pro. 3 hours ago right after the update, I was at 85%. It's been sitting doing nothing since then and is already down to 81%. Pre-update it would often do that and then finally settle down after about an hour or so--usually only loses about 5% total overnight. But that's still too much in my opinion. I'll have to see if there's any improvement overnight tonight, but I'm not super optimistic.

This isn't deal breaker battery drain, but it just frustrates me that it's noticeably worse than it used to be. I use my iPad for everything and wish the battery was still as stable as it used to be. I acknowledge that part of it could just be that it's over a year old now and has a few charge cycles under its belt, but it's not like it gets a nightly charge like my iPhone does. I think iPadOS is just less efficient in standby unfortunately.

It's a shame you're choosing to be closed-minded and not open to a discussion on this. We have hundreds of devices I administrate, and this behavior is not consistent across our entire fleet. I have had much more success on the 13.3.1 beta myself, and worse luck using the same account on a similar hardware device with 13.3 release.

Since the update itself involves a fix for the arrow I think it’s related to this thread as well.

And if anyone is thinking of coming at me for berating the developers, you can quite simply shove it. I’m not interested. They have had months and months and months to sort out these issues and have absolutely failed on too many counts.

Sorry, but I completely agree with StumpyBloke on this one. Apple has had more than ample time to fix the mail app - it is a core app you expect to work as advertised, especially when it is a part of a package that includes 1K+ hardware. It's "mail" for goodness sake. Very disappointed in Apple.

Never judge your software right after an update. Wait for a couple hours at least.

For sure--I'm going to use it tonight like usual and then see how it does overnight. I may end up pleasantly surprised. Like I mentioned early, it's not been horrible by any means. I guess I just still long for the days when iPads really didn't drain at all in standby. But back then there was no iCloud, no automatic updates, no background app refresh, etc. Times have changed.

Ive given up all hope on the mail app. Still shows I have messages in my Exchange account and when I open the mail app they are sometimes there and sometimes not until I keep refreshing or force close the app. Fingers crossed for ios 14 or maybe 15.

Hows the battery life?
Fantastic. I’ve regularly been getting over 8 hours of screen-on time with medium use of the Notes app and heavy usage of the Tips app. Haven’t had a chance to use the Contacts app too heavily yet but will report back.

Just kidding. It’s only been out for a few hours. Nobody can reliably comment on battery usage yet.

If anyone had an iPad Air 2 or some other iPad that was performing really slow to the point it was almost unusable, this update resolved all those performance issues I was having!

My wife, who's still using an Air 2 and who was the exceedingly unhappy "recipient" of an update to 13 that she was trying to avoid, will be very happy about that.

I’m afraid to update from 13.3. After a few weeks of incredibly bad battery drain, including a factory wipe and fresh install and still battery drain, it’s just disappeared on it’s own and I’ve been getting the best battery life I’ve had since iOS 12 on my XS Max.
