Notice in Safari, there is no option to see my iCloud tabs that are open on other devices. Maybe those need to be running iOS 13 and the latest beta MacOS as well?

Also having the Slide Ofer bug where I can’t dismiss the window.

The shortcuts app is getting massive improvements.

If you have a multistep shortcut with choose from list/menu. This menu will be shown in the Siri UI and the options are selectable by voice.

This one is gigantic. Taken with the automations, this massively moves Shortcuts forward.

Heh, heh.

I’m loving the new Safari engine but... just noticed that you can’t login into iCloud from iPadOS Safari.

In iOS 12 you’d go to www.icloud.com and get a mobile version. But you could ask for the Desktop version and log in.

Now, iCloud detects you are connecting from Safari on an iPad and will show you the mobile version. But I can’t find the “Desktop version” option anymore, so...

Yeah I don't like that floating keyboard either but I guess it's really intended for one handed carrying and typing, rather than the split two handed one. I have the keyboard attached 24/7 anyway. As soon as I log off work the iPad is my main "being a douche on the internet" machine :D

Omg, the download manager is exactly like Safari on MacOS! VERY nice for “real” internetting, lol.

Just wanted to say that I’m really liking iOS 13 so far on both my XS Max and iPad Pro 11. Both really fast and fluid, liking the new animations, dark mode is awesome, subtle tweaks all over the OS. Very pleased.

We have the same setup! Loving it as well. A few little bugs here and there, but nothing that would ruin my day.

Is the slide keyboard working for everyone using an ipad? I have an ipad pro. And it shows enabled in the settings. But it doesn’t work on my keyboard. Works fine on my iphone.

works like a charm on my old iPad Air 2. however most of the new stuff is so hidden, i basically have to research the new features online
That’s a relief! Do you know if iPad Air 2 has the same multitasking capabilities of the new models, like
Multiple apps in Slide Over, Swipe between Slide Over apps, Slide Over switcher, Multiple windows from the same app, Same app in multiple spaces, or App Exposé?

The health app is either confusing times with minutes, or knows something about me that I don't...

In the address bar, tap the two aA button to get the web page settings. It shows as an option on there.

Call me stupid, but when I first tried the Files app on the iPad pro, it wasn't showing my cloud drive (which I fixed), but it had a top menu bar that allowed me to select between icon view, list view, etc. Now that I have my files showing, it only has an option to search or select at the top. The display options for Icon view, List view, are now gone and I cannot find out how to select the different listing modes.

On my 6S, apart from long press I can still use 3D touch. However, it doesn't work quite the same as before.

Before iOS13 ... press hard and wait a second for whatever action to happen. Now ... stab it (i.e. press hard and immediately release). Using this 3D touch / stab is faster than a long press. However, it's a touch (aha!) unreliable at the moment whereas a long press always works for me.
I believe the stab you’re talking about is still registered as a haptic touch and has nothing to do with the 3D Touch sensor. You can clearly notice where 3D Touch has been replaced by haptic touch. You can no longer force touch a folder and release on desired app with notification to open it. You now have to lift your finger after a haptic touch (or stab in your words) then tap again.
You can no longer force touch a song and release your finger on add to playlist. You can no longer force touch the torch in control Center and release on desired brightness. You can no longer force touch notes and release on new note to create new note from home screen. You can no longer force touch on settings and release on WiFi, Bluetooth for quick selection of connection. The keyboards messed up too.
I’ve found that in Apollo for reddit you can still peek and pop posts with 3D Touch but using 3D Touch on comments has turned into a haptic touch. You can literally feel the difference in interaction.
At the moment system apps have completely scrapped 3D Touch for haptic touch.
Oddly enough they still let you enable disable 3D Touch in accessibility and still let you select sensitivity.
I remain hopeful they will work on it and not just render the hardware useless which btw has been forming the prices of their flagship devices for the past 4-5 years.

Pull down a little to reveal the bar

So, after some time with iOS 13 on my iPhone XS MAX – here are my notes.
  • Most things just work. Overall the system is stable and adequately usable. There are ample UI glitches, but nothing one cant ignore.
Broken things
  • Notifications.
    • Calls - randomly wont notify on some calls on the phone or watch.
    • Mail - You will get the audible sound, and see a banner but the badge count does not appear or reflect missed messages.
  • Mail App
    • Mail app is noticeably slow to open from closed.
    • Sometimes it wont “refresh” new mail even after getting a notification.
    • Some messages deleted in Mail don’t sync delete across server.
  • Settings App.
    • Trying to access certain – non critical settings will crash the settings app.
    • Push / Fetch settings per account in particular crashes for me every time I attempt to access.

What works / What I Like.
  • CarPlay. It works. And it works well.
    • New widget screen is really nice.
    • New calendar app is super helpful to have that little reminder.
    • Album art loading slow is really the only issue ive had.
  • Most apps work.
    • Have not had any critical app issues. Everything again just kinda works.
    • Feedback app did crash once for me in the middle of filling out a report.
    • FaceID worked right away from me, and no issues with it in apps that use it either. Not only that is seriously fast. Most the time its already done before I can realize it.
    • Apple Wallet works fine
    • Safari is FAST now. And really smooth.
    • New Photos app is really nice. I like the new setup a lot more.
    • Also, the App store got an update and it moved App Updates.. I actually particularly like the new location.
  • Dual Sim
    • iMessage/Facetime on both lines now is really nice. Simple setting to activate.
    • No other major enhancements to dual sim yet.
    • Additionally – iOS 13 seems to update the Verizon PRL’s and I have significantly better service in most places.
  • New Health + Activity apps
    • I really like the look of the new health app.
    • I don’t like that you cant really sort the summery to your liking yet. You can only set what you want to see.
    • Trending sheet in Activity is really nice too. The insights are nice, though limited for now.

Apple Watch – WatchOS 6 – Series 4 Nike +
  • So far it works rather smoothly. No issues after update with pairing.
  • A few hiccups with customization settings on the iPhone app directly. They don’t seem to load right and wont show in the app. Adjusting on the watch works just fine.
  • Lots of new really helpful settings – like the ability to turn off Siri on digital crown press. Helpful in turning off the random Siri nags from your wrist being bent.
Edit added a screen cap of my apps. no major issues with any yet.

That’s exactly what I mean. Gotta YouTube how to even do that. Will report back

So far my experience with iOS 13 has been pretty decent. A few of my observations on my XS Max:
  • Battery life on my paired Apple Watch (series 4 w/ cellular) has been crap over the last couple days; both nights since installing iOS 13, watch is at 10% when normally 40-50% (since purchasing watch at release); not change in typical usage throughout the day
  • Through the Watch app on the phone, some Infograph watch face complications missing, though I can manually add them on the watch itself
  • Calendar app defaults to the US Holidays calendar when creating new appointments (thought there used to be a setting to configure the default calendar, but I could be imagining that. I can't find anything in Settings that lets me switch)
