That has been the case at least since WatchOS 4.Be warned everyone - I've just installed the new WatchOS and now it appears to want my iPhone to also be updated to iOS 13. My Watch will now not work until I'm running iOS 13. Seems weird that it let me install WatchOS in the first place without telling me.

Thank you. Personally, I get p*ssed off that I spend the $99 and others just want it for free.You must be a registered developer and pay the $99 yearly fee to access.

Xcode has always been required for iTunes installs. Not for profile installs.
