Today seems logical since we‘re at the two week mark but as always, my Pro has been running like a dream so my patience is well intact. For the sake of those plagued by the ever-nasty email bugs or anything else making their lives less than perfect, my fingers are crossed for a release.

You do realize that they don‘t finish betas and push them out right away? By the time you get a new build, it‘s already outdated internally again. They usually finalize builds days if not weeks in advance and jump on the next one. Chances are beta 2 was done a week or two ago but has yet to go live for us.

I didn't realize that. Why do they sit on a beta for days or weeks before releasing it?

If true, that would mean that any new bug that developers discover in a beta version and report, might not get addressed in the next beta because, as you say, the next beta may already be finalized.

Correct.

That's sadly the truth, which means any bugs you report later on in the beta cycle are usually still present day 1. Sometimes they simply get ignored though because they're already fixed 1-2 releases down the line.

Well, I wouldn’t say it’s “sad”. Fixing a bug can cause other issues and it’s good to have more time to test before releasing to customers.

13.4 Public Beta 2 incoming...

Downloaded it in my hotel this morning and then it wouldn’t let me install. Thought it was WiFi network there. At work now and “install now” is still greyed out.

Edit: and as I was originally typing this edit to say that hard restart let me tap “Install Now” but it gave me a message saying it wouldn’t install, my phone glitches...went black...and beta started installing. Scared the crap out of me.

That is why I am hesitant to install betas on the road. But I do anyway!

Do you think we will get iOS 13.5 too? And I cannot wait for the iOS 14 keynote and betas. Gonna be interesting.

Maybe? There would be just about enough time to beta that one if 13.4 rolls out by the end of March. But my guess is we’ll see 13.4.1 instead. This may be the end of the line for lucky iOS 13!
