Don’t know if it was the update last night, but, my 12 pro battery has dropped 8% in just over 5 hours of normal ( in my opinion) use. I can live with that.

Updated my XS, 7 and SE (original). No change in battery health level in any of them after the 14.3 (all on original batterit’s)

After reading some of these latest posts .... yep. Had to go test.

“Hey Siri, what is my current elevation?” ...
“Hey Siri, what is my altitude?” ...
“Hey Siri, what is my elevation?” ...
“Hey Siri, what is my elevation above sea level?” ...

As for Translation, sadly it is a brick. As in all the function of.

sigh ... 🙄

Re Translate: I get "Translation Unavailable. Translation is unavailable at the moment. Try again at a later time." Every time.

When I just tested translate and say it is a brick ...

I do vocal English to German - works great.
I do English to Russian - works great.
I swap it and do Russian to English ..... there you go.

It's trying to translate foreign phrase as if it were English and asking it to translate it to the foreign language which it already is. It's going to do that every time.

But if you look at the screenshot, the direction was Russian to English. In spite of that it tried to execute English to Russian.

That is not how it is supposed to work AFAIK

Today, my alarm was set for 7 am, I woke up at 6.45, and as I was walking to the toilet with phone in hand, I got a notification asking me if I wanted to turn my alarm off.

Weird that this feature has apparently been implanted for months now, but whatever, it works now and I guess that's good enough for me. 😬
Interesting. I had the exact same scenario happen this morning: alarm set for 7 AM, woke up around 6:45 AM and picked up my phone to check the time (but didn’t unplug it/take it to the bathroom with me). No notification about turning the alarm off. Checked phone again at 6:50 and 6:55. Never received any notification to turn the alarm off before it rang at 7.

It seems like this may be another Apple “feature” that only works if a specific list of criteria are in place. Is your alarm just a regular alarm or is it part of a bedtime sleep/wake up schedule? Do you have optimized charging turned on and functional?

I’m just curious what conditions have to be met for the notification to show up, since it seems it’s working for you and a few others, but I have had iOS 14 since the first public beta and haven’t seen it yet.

Edit: I wonder if it’s related to you picking up the phone and carrying it around (accelerometer data)? I picked mine up about a foot off my nightstand to read the time but maybe actually carrying it around would trigger it?

Tried your exact same example over and over and it works as designed. The original entry stays in the top section no matter what you change the languages to. You have to reenter whatever text you want to translate. Merely switching back and forth does not change the previous entries.

Not sure I understand you ...

Here is what I did (just replicated with the same outcome).
In Translate - Vocal
1. English to German : I wonder what the temperature is outside?
2. English to Russian : I wonder what the temperature is outside?
In Google Translate - Vocal
1. English to German : I wonder what the temperature is outside?
2. English to Russian : I wonder what the temperature is outside?
Copied the Russian translation in Google Translate
In Translate
1. Set to Russian to English
2. Pasted in copied Russian text
Translate then treated the pasted entry as if it was "English" instead of "Russian" as I had set it.

Now I did the same thing with German (see attached) with the same error
1. Set Translate to German to English

Pasted in copied text - same error

It’s happening because you’re pasting and not typing the text in for translation. It won’t work when you paste.

So basically you are saying that cut/paste, a function Apple claims, doesn't work?

"The Translate app has an easy-to-use interface that allows you to select languages to translate to and from, and then type (or paste) the text that you want to be translated."

Guess I'll be sticking with Google translate

Update
Did some more digging and @teeshot44 is correct. Paste does not work with the current version of Translate. Not only that but when in keyboard mode, Translate cannot detect the language.

Seriously "Ouch!". :(

Yep, bummer. Didn't realize in your first post you were trying to paste, sorry. And I like Google translate better also.

I just copied a piece of text in Portuguese I had in a note, went into Translate, choose Portuguese as the source language, and paste it. Worked perfectly. I tried to translate from PT to French.

Anyone having issues with Significant locations not showing any entry of recent visits to any place. Also no notifications getting sent to any find my friends upon my leaving or reaching any place whatsoever. Seems that the trigger upon reaching any location is broken.
Any suggestions?

What is your default language on your iPhone?

If I stick with English I can. But usually it is another language to English.
Tried Notes and an email copy/paste; Translator still assumed the original "paste" was English. :(

I faced a problem 7 years ago that has not been solved yet. I use Icloud mail, and I don't get push notifications. I rebooted my phone, logged out and logged in to my Apple ID, and turned off syncing and push. Support from senior specialists does not help. They promise a callback and everything is useless. Until I log in to the mail app and pull the screen down to update, new emails won't load. If anyone has the same problem?
