I had the text message issues sorted out with the last beta now with this RC they're F'd up again. Hard to believe they would release this to the general public in the shape it's in.

There's working DSDS 5G & 4G on samsung devices (not sure about other androids) that are also using qualcomm x55.

and the iPhone 12s in China are already supporting it, so unsure if its on qualcomm or apple on software support
And even that would be fine for me. My second line has data but 99% of the time it’s used for texts and phone calls, and even then I don’t need 5G data on it.

Anyone have a problem with FB messenger when you go to type something or send something to someone the entire screen is black? You have to close or back out and select contact again to see the TXT? Been going on for last 2-3 betas! Had several FB updates and messenger updates and still no fix? Deleted FB and messenger tried again same issue?

Installed RC 14.3. In the phone app, I have favorite contacts with either pictures or the initials that the phone generates. When I click on any of the other tabs at the bottom of the phone app then go back to the favorites tab, in about 1-2 seconds, all the contact photo thumbnails flicker for a split second. Is anyone else seeing this? Never had this on any other update. I went as far as deleting all pics and reloading them thinking perhaps photos were corrupt, but the issue still persists. And it is only in the phone favorites tab.

Anyone else having issues wir CarPlay in this (18C65) version and the previous?
the phone does not connect to an existing profile and I am asked to unlock the phone every time I connect it.
and it always starts with the same default profile, though it is never saving it ...
i even deleted the previously existing profiles under CarPlay...
reset and so on... nothing seems to help.

any ideas?

Yes, me! Having exactly the same issue with CarPlay. The profile shows and if I "Forget Car" and connect again it seems to connect again but CarPlay on the head unit not showing anything.

Same story here. I have problems with actual launching Carplay. Have to disconnect and re-connect the wire. It asks me about permission all the time.

Anyone else having problems taking a screen shot on 14.2.1? Sometimes it works fine and other times the phone will just hang and freeze. (iPhone 12 pro)

When have showstopping bugs ever stopped Apple from releasing? Doesn't surprise me at all.

My experience has been mostly okay with this beta. My Bluetooth connection with my Alpine head unit cut out for 1-2 seconds a couple of times and then just never came back. It was still connected as I could see the track information and the timer still counting up. Disconnected and reconnecting solved it.

Having had both the 12 Pro and now the Mini, I was experiencing the bad swipe-up behavior on the Pro pretty consistently but I have yet to see anything like that on the Mini.

Another issue I've been experiencing may or may not be beta specific as it's been an issue for a bit now. When long pressing and interacting with notifications on the lock screen, those interactions don't seem to be recognized by the app itself. Two examples are Reminders and Sleep Watch. If I complete a task via that long press method, I'll still see that reminder as past due if I go into the app for something else later. Same with Sleep Watch. It asks me how well rested I feel about 30 minutes after waking up and I'll respond to that only to later open the app and be presented with the same question.

You probably want to post this in the 14.2.1 thread. 14.3 (which this thread is about) may have entirely different characteristics and so any answers you get may not have any validity.

Been playing around with Camera on my 12 ProMax.

Couple of items....

- Camera settings are not always preserved when you close then reopen the Camera
- RAW has changed. Noticing a slight over-exposure when compared to the previous beta
- infrequently I will be taking a braced or mounted shot and the display will suddenly jerk up then down. Doesn't seem to bother the shot
- Pano has failed a couple of times now. Will start the shot and part way through it freezes and will not complete. I'll try it again and it works fine. Have not found any possible reason yet.
- Zoom has an issue. Indoor max zoom shots in mid-light are displaying a lot of noise. Tried this on the 11 ProMax and it is even worse. Big change from 14.3 b3. This may be tied into the OE I am seeing for RAW photos.

So far I am not sure what was changed for the RC in Camera but I am not a fan.

Yes RC is final official build number so 14.3 RC today is final build number which public will get next week
Well, seems like this RC won't be the final official build which will be publicly released:

Everyone pay Attention this RC 14.3 is the final release 1 week ahead of regular public! If you want the final 14.3 download and install today the build number will not change and don’t forget to remove your beta/dev profile after 14.3 RC update otherwise next week you’ll jump to 14.4 and you’ll be pissed you missed 14.3 official build.

Once again! Update today to this build that’s stable and final and remove you profile off your phone! Don’t come crying later, I didn’t warn you and complain here you can’t update to final release next week because you won’t get the final this is final!

that’s for general public what we have today is the final release dev/beta testers. Public beta will be out tomorrow or day after . Beta people will get 14.4 next week when regular general public gets 14.3
Those didn't age well.

Can anyone try something for me? Go to Shortcuts app, and create a shortcut with a step which records audio on the background. Not the Voice memos, but the recording tool from Shortcuts. Now see if it works on the background like on iOS 12 and 13, or it stops the recording as soon as you close the app. Thank you in advance.

Mine are working now, but with some caveats.

Toggling bluetooth off seemed to work, but if I restarted my phone or toggled it back on, we were back to square one.

Right now, bluetooth is on, iMessage is off. After multiple restarts, it's working, but I'm just using straight SMS messaging now until this gets fixed. I DFU restored last night back to 14.2.1 from beta RC 1.

This makes me wonder if there is a glitch in the iMessage API or what not. Anyway, this is how I'll live for now.

Thanks for the comments. Last night I tried with iMessage off on RC 1 and found no love. Currently going through the update process on rc2 so may try turning off Imessage off again and see if that works.
