I'll wait to see if this enables 5G when using SIM and eSIM. I'm not expecting it will, if ever given the conversation I had with Apple a few weeks ago about it.
Apple has already stated it will come in future update. As it’s been beaten to to death on the forums. As if it’s really a deal breaker.

I know, I mentioned reading several of those, and he said he'd follow up with me in a few days; when he did he told me that he couldn't confirm or deny that it would happen, but said that if it was something that I'd been expecting to happen soon, that returning my device might be something I'd want to consider. (This was a rep who called us after my employer, who purchased a large number of new devices reached out to Tim Cook's office to see if this would happen, since most of us use two carriers and were hopeful 5G would be supported, at best at some point).

I'd expect no less on that device! The A11 is holding its own, so nicely, that I do not really feel the urge to upgrade, performance-wise. I can only imagine that A14 is leaving nothing wanting.
Can only hope iOS 14.4 beta 1 continues the improvements. There are little things here and there I would like to see changed, fixed or improved upon but no show stoppers for me thus far.

Modem firmware has been updated to 6.41.00 from 6.21.01 on Qualcomm-enabled iPhone 8. Updated the wiki to reflect that.
