I don't have an Apple Watch so was a bit jealous that you'll all be able to unlock the phone while wearing a mask, but I've just read that Apple Pay stuff still needs full FaceID unlock. As that's the main time I'm wearing a mask and needing to unlock the phone (paying at the till), I still need to enter my PIN. Phew. Not quite so jealous :)
You just use your watch to pay and no need for faceid or pin 🙄

So weird ... did you open the app? I'm starting to think the feature is a wee bit half baked.
Also restarted the phone, nothing. I remember it working fine in the first 14 beta (or at least I think it worked fine back then, before it was pulled). Yeah, maybe it needs a bit or maybe I'm the only one for who it's not working lol

Do you need the latest watchOS in order for this to work?

Yes, as I just found out

Not if you have an Apple Watch. Just use Apple Pay from the watch.

Why would you bother with all the rigmarole of paying with your iPhone if you were wearing a Watch?

Allowing ApplePay on the iPhone when you have it on the Watch is like making extra work for yourself.

It does. It's almost instant. There's no lag. Didn't expect it to be so fast.

This is not new tech, as it’s been available on the Mac for 3-4 years now. So it probably was a fairly simple port. Great feature. Can’t say how many times I’ve cursed at the phone for locking up when I’m grocery shopping and have to enter the passcode to get it to reopen.

Cue the naysayers who will decry this as a nefarious way for Apple to sell more Watches.

Exactly.

Ever use a drive thru and had the worried feeling of holding your phone outside your car and maybe dropping it when you hold fit near the reader that they keep away from you at a distance that is more comfortable for them and not you?

The watch is vastly better and much safer as it stays on your wrist.

Just to confirm, if you can't update via IPSW, you need to download Xcode, unzip, open it and install the components, you can then throw Xcode in the bin and update your phone normally.
could you specify it? i dont get what xcode and what to unzip

thanks
