iOS 14.5 Beta 6 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

It’s frustrating. I’ll paste a link in iMessage and hit “send” and I know it’s not gonna work correctly after a few seconds. Sure enough, the link sends without a preview.

Then I just quit the Messages app, reopen it, hit “paste” again and it works perfectly.

So dumb.

Nah, the blank bar in the Messages app barely bothers me at all. I simply continue to report that it exists because, well, that’s the whole point of this thread.

There are plenty of other bugs that make me crazy, but that isn’t one of them.
 
This bug has been around for the last few betas, but I haven’t seen anyone mention it:

In the “Radio” tab of the Music app, the “Every Show, On Demand” section only displays the radio shows that begin with the letters A-M. There’s nothing available for the radio shows that begin with the letters N-Z (“Time Crisis”, for example).
 
Hotspot 12 ProMax

Using my 12PM as a hot spot today as wifi at the resort I am at is not the grreatest.
My IPP 11 (beta 6) can see and use the hotspot. Wife’s mini 5 (14.4.2) cannot see it at all. If I type it in under “Other” in wifi, after a few join attempts it can see it and join.

Wondering if it is an OS or hardware issue.

I have this too. I never go to that section so I didn’t realize it. Weird bug!

Wrong group but quick answer I’m going to say no, next week RC. I have a feeling this week is final testing to make sure all the major bugs are fixed and next week RC than RC2 week after and than final release

Hi guys, i installed beta 6 today, and i can see that my Airpods works so bad, when i try to connect 2 airpods, only one’s playing, and i put a video u need to see this trash, i saw it at first, maybe u know how to solve this problem, or it’s depend on beta version

Wrong group?… is this not The Mighty Morphing Power Ranges Fan Club?

Thought because we had an A build on B6, things might happen quite quickly, like an RC build at the end of the week.

I jumped in on B6 so my timings aren’t in sync with the whole beta cycle thang. 👍🏼

I was just saying there is a speculation thread for what you asked and they might know better. We tend to get off subject when this question comes up.

im guilty I do from time to time also just a friendly advice that’s is all. So now your in synch and know

VPN still can't stay connected (ExpressVPN). What the hell are they doing to this operating system?? Very annoying!!! It this so hard to accomplish?!!!!!!!

Is what you do for work easy ? If not, would you like it if some outsider said “Why can’t Cu5co do this complicated thing? It should be so easy!”

It’s ok to express disappointment that a feature doesn’t work as intended in a released version of iOS. In my opinion, however, it’s not ok to imply that something that is probably exceptionally difficult (managing millions of lines of code and ensuring that they execute properly) should be easy. It’s not.

And don’t even get me started about the propriety of complaining about anything during a beta….

This! I would also add to that, no one has the right to bitch, moan, complain etc unless they have reported the bug to Apple IMHO.

I believe it would be quite beneficial if people stated whether they have reported the bug or not when mentioning it in the respective bug thread.

You’re not right about this. Stop using “This is a beta” for everything Apple breaks. This was working properly and now it is not and that is not the way. What would have changed regarding VPNs for them to broke this? And if something went wrong in a certain beta, 1 or 2 more betas should give them the time for correcting. I’m a developer for about 30 years and if I broke something to a client of mine that was working properly and they have to wait months for me to correct it, I would be on the wrong path. It was working and now it is not, period.

i want to restore 14.5 with itunes without update, a new install? :)

Then you should know better. Who knows what Apple is tweaking under the hood. You don’t know and I don’t know. Perhaps they are A/B testing something regarding the VPN connections. Or maybe they are working on something that requires them to disable certain code blocks that have a secondary effect on the VPN service. Or maybe they just screwed something up while tinkering in a different block.

Point is, it is a beta and they essentially have a right to do what they want with it because it’s not a public release. Perhaps if this messes with your life, you should not put your phone in a beta program that explicitly calls for users not to employ their primary device for this. We all know that we all do this anyway, but it’s really hard to be too sympathetic when something isn’t working properly.
