Battery. 12 ProMax.
Did a trip today from Los Angeles California to Phoenix Arizona to Oak Creek Village Arizona.
Phone was cool to very warm off and on throughout the trip. Burned through battery like crazy.
Last time did this trip I was using an 11 ProMax. No issues at all with the battery life or phone temp.
Side note: my Razer (Android) had no issues with temp or battery life.
I'm running my phone on 4G 12 pro max, battery is definitely draining quicker than before on both wifi and 4G, also noticed back of the phone gets slightly warmish from time to time, hopefully apple gets their act together before releasing the final version. Was your 5G on or off? If it was trying to get and hold to a 5G signal throughout your trip, it could well explain the battery drain. 🤔
I am asking because I read they had adopted neural TtS for this release (hoping they adopted also Neural StT, Siri must learn to understand better).I directly jumped from 14.4 to 14.5 b6 and yesterday I hade the same impression.
Siri is now much more natural for the tone of the whole phrase, and some quick replies like “ok, sent” when sending a message via voice, are spoken quicker.
Italian Siri, at least for female voice (sorry overseas fellows, we still have genders), I’d much improved to me.
Because this release includes natural voice Siri for Italy and a handful of other regions.I directly jumped from 14.4 to 14.5 b6 and yesterday I hade the same impression.

Your not alone. iPhone 12 at 98% after 5 months. Well annoyed. I had my XR and in the first year that was still on 100%. Spoke to a senior tech at Apple and I got a sneaky suspicion they know about this. He couldnt answer a very direct question. And now I’m seeing this iPhone 11 calibration on battery’s, it will probably come to all phones, if not the 12s next. Because this is a joke. I bought an Apple, not a Banana.😆So my max battery capacity has dropped another point down to 97% on my 12 Pro Max. I am a very mild user in this device. I have never had a phone drop below 100% within the 1st year like this.
Let’s hope they enable the battery recalibration tool on other devices soon.
Could you tell me if Natural Voice improves only Siri’s Text-to-Speech or also Speech-to-Text?Because this release includes natural voice Siri for Italy and a handful of other regions.

My 12 Pro, purchased at launch, is down to 95%. I hope that's a problem with calibration and not indicative of the battery's actual state. I've also had problems with Qi charging that are corrected temporarily by re-booting, so potentially correctable in an iOS update.Your not alone. iPhone 12 at 98% after 5 months. Well annoyed. Purchased in December 2017 my X has lost 16%. That is 0.4% per month which exactly matches your 12’s performance. No cause for alarmYour not alone. iPhone 12 at 98% after 5 months. Well annoyed. To be fair here, for the people that seem to think @s2mike is the only one having this issue, I’ve had this issue for just as long.Blank bar in the Messages app is still there.
Yeah, I’m fairly certain a lot of people are experiencing the issue but aren’t even aware of it because it only happens for half a second. To be fair here, for the people that seem to think @s2mike is the only one having this issue, I’ve had this issue for just as long.
For me I have to force quit Messages to get it working again.Yeah, I’m fairly certain a lot of people are experiencing the issue but aren’t even aware of it because it only happens for half a second.
Anyone else seeing a purplish hue when on dark mode? If you open your phone app and go from keypad to recent calls and back for a split second it goes purplish. Same in the settings app, open settings pick any of the menus and go back to main settings list it goes purplish as well for me. Reported it in beta 5 and is still do this in beta 6. Running on a 12 pro max.
My iPhone 12 is now down to 96% and I am a very light user also. I hope that it is a calibration thing and that they will fix it. Just not sure why the most advanced iPhone drops 2% battery health in 5 months. And an XR, still has 100% after 12months.Purchased in December 2017 my X has lost 16%. That is 0.4% per month which exactly matches your 12’s performance. No cause for alarm

Same here, smashing the phone daily still 100%12 Pro Max here. Got at launch. Fairly heavy user. 100%.
Same here too. When I sold my launch day 11 pro max in October the battery health was at 98%. I don’t think the battery stats are accurate at all lol12 Pro Max here. Got at launch. Fairly heavy user. 100%.
Definitely not just his problem/phone. I came to this thread to see if anyone else was seeing this as well. I have had this issue since at least Beta 4, if not earlier.Works for me. I think it’s your phone buddy. I had an issue with safari not loading web pages properly. Baffled Apple. Wiped my phone and started from fresh, not doing a back up. Phone as new. All worked again. There was something corrupt in my iCloud backup.
For me it doesn’t seem to work like ever. It will sit and spin after you send the link like it is trying to pull the preview, but it never shows up. And then I just permanently have the url line with the globe.I mean, it works for me 90% of the time. It should work 100% of the time, though.
