67 apps, very few games, Proton VPN, an MDM from work for Exchange, Teams, OneNote, Business Skype, all widgets are on Today screen unless I test one on Home screen. On AT&T and Spectrum WiFI.
I have my main Apple ID and a seperate one for the App Store (Family).
Other than that it is pretty basic.
I am pretty baffled also.

Wow! I figured you had a crazy set up of some sort.

Has anyone else noticed that the Apple autocorrect system is biased in favor of proper names? I use the slide to type method of input (Quickpath, I believe). I’ve noticed for some time that if I type a word that the system thinks is ambiguous due to the close location of certain keys, it resolves the word frequently by selecting a proper name.

For example, I slide typed the word “wants”. In three successive attempts, I got “Eames”, “Sammy’s” and “Wendy’s”.

Now, the swipe pattern for some of those is close but not (obviously) identical to “wants”. My question is why Apple would set up their algorithm to choose a proper name rather than the more likely word “wants”, which has to be used at a frequency rate 100s if not thousands of times greater than those names (note: I don’t message people with those names nor to my knowledge ever used “Eames” in my inputs (before today, of course). “Wendy” is a possibility due to the fast food restaurant).

I switched to SwiftKey to see if that made a difference and it does the same thing, likely because it’s probably tied to the same ambiguity resolving engine as the main keyboard.

I’ve reported this, but of course there are no other reports.

Yes, and it's annoying. It prompts for contacts' names over regular common words time and time again.

I still don't like the way it changes a correct word because it gets the next word wrong, and instead of working out what it should be, instead decides that the entire phrase is wrong and needs to be changed.

Agree.

It seems to me that this behavior (both what I described and what you did) is relatively new, say in the last 2 major iOS releases.

I read the book by Ken Kocienda, who created the keyboard, about how it was supposed to work. They fed the algorithm countless sentences so that it would correct things on the fly. So, if you intend to say “well said”, it might initially autocorrect the first word to “we’ll”, but as soon as it sees the word “said”, it will recognize from all the training that the word “said” would never follow the word “we’ll” and would re-correct “we’ll” back to “well”.

This worked well for a long time and then it seemed to stop working. I’d love to understand why.

I’m curious if MDM is what’s affecting things some how as that’s an item that has some outside/non user influence on a device. That’s something that a lot of us won’t have. Just wondering.

That's interesting, but shows how difficult it can be.

I type "We'll sajd" and it changes it to "Well said" but I continue with "the table before we varnish it".

IPP 11 2020
Safari.

Interestingly I tend to log into Twitter from Safari edspecially if responding from Mail. Today I saw something I haven’t seen before; I get an alert when loggin in (Safari) on my IPP into Twitter. It seems to think I was signing in on a Mac.

Anyone else seen this?

iPadOS Safari uses the same user agent string as macOS Safari such that mobile versions of websites aren’t displayed.

That might be the case if it wasn’t that many of the issues I see on my 12PM I also see on my IPP11 which does not have MDMN. Work MDM is managed via the Hub app and is pretty much limited to MS functionality and things like “erase after 10 failed login” type of stuff. Surprisingly these apps and functions I have no problem with.

Still, it could be a culprit.
Thx

500? whoa……..

I’m one of those who goes through and cleans out stuff I really don’t use.

So I saw through Aaron zollos latest yt video about a new change related to youtube resolution which is part of iOS 14.5 beta 8 I believe or it could work in other comaptiable OS

But with the advanced option so we can actually choose to watch a video in its actual resolution, I hope with the advanced option that A10X iPad Pro can actually see YT Videos in 4K and especially HDR but then hopefully older A8-A10 CPU’s can have the same option too (besides HDR since A10X iPad is the first iOS/iPadOS device with HDR Screen)

and also A11 with the exception of iPhone X can’t watch in HDR and also iPhone SE second generation with HDR too. They have fake HDR but so do XR/11 but I see HDR option for them not with the other fake/enhanced ones

though with SE 2020 I did see HDR at one stage then YT Removed that (but luckily not in 4K for the extra bitrate)

That seems to be a common occurrence especially under heavy load.
When that happens I frequently find it gets warm around the Apples logo also.
Problem is I wasn’t doing anything that’s demanding on the processor, was only browsing safari.

Battery life dropped by 4% in a few minutes.

Hopefully apple get their **** together soon.

battery life still nowhere near as good as 14.4, and green tint is still visible

Can’t believe apple still hasn’t fixed the ringtone being audible when on silent. 🤦‍♂️

It’s only been around for 2-3 month. 🙄🤦‍♂️
Whattttt? This has never happened to me once in 9 years of using an iPhone. I’ve never read anyone having this issue either lol.

Restore your phone as new man, you seem to be having a lot of issues. Something must’ve gone horribly wrong somewhere.

Doesn’t always happen, but it is annoying, also happening to a few other people.

Doubt restoring my phone will solve anything.
