iOS 14 Beta 2 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

yup, I’ve commented early on, and repeatedly about it, others have too. Some have said disabling the esim would help, but I don’t have one on my iPhone.

my iPhone has had it dozens of times a day since Beta 1. My iPad didn’t have many instances in Beta 1, but Beta 2 has been as many as my iPad.Hopefully Beta 3 sorts me out.

Here's one. I was using FB Messenger and needed to send a pic using the camera. I opened the FB Messenger camera and boom! It didn't rebook but completely shut down my phone. Turned it off. I had to wait a few mins to turn it back on.

i saw other people say the same about FB messenger on here early on. Weirdly, I don’t have that issue.
 
I’ve been following the thread pretty closely and I haven’t seen this mentioned.

Today around noon when I went to check for an update, I found a new entry in my Settings app just below my name that says “Update Payment Information” with a red “1” to the right. Since then the badge has been on my app and tapping it does nothing.

Soft and hard reboots have had no effect. This is the only real bug I’ve experienced so far and it’s pretty mild in comparison to some other people’s experiences.

Still, a badge you can’t clear is pretty annoying.

The annoying thing is , the reminder is already there showing on the widget amongst all the other reminders I have set before next Monday.

I don’t want to see that reminder yet as there’s no benefit to me to see it. Next Sunday maybe , or next Monday morning. I don’t want to see it on the widget for the next 7 days.

Am I missing something here ? I have submitted feedback to Apple.

Your widget is probably pointing to the ‘Scheduled‘ list instead of ‘Today’. to change it, just long-press on the widget to edit it. When you do that, the widget flips over and you can change the list.

I was having this issue (it kept coming up with my grocery list). I found this fix, but, boy, is it unintuitive...
 
Viber on my iPhone 11 Max has stopped working. I can open it but as soon as I do anything it freezes. It is working fine on my iPad.
I have rebooted the iPhone deleted and readded Viber but it is still not working.
Yes know that this is beta!!!
But why work on iPad but not on iPhone.
Yes I know that is what betas are about!!!
 
Anyone has some frame drops issue when panning to zoom in and out in photos and safari website ? It seems like the animation is not quite smooth but not happen all the time. Im using iphone xs. Other than that, scrolling are absolutely smooth with almost zero stutter. Im start to love this ios14

Sounds like you accidentally clicked the wrong profile (iPad maybe?)

Some on my phone but LOTS on my watch.

There's been a few people saying in this thread that Viber hasn't been working.

Any issues with Apps not working should be put in this thread though:

Only unintuitive the first time :)

All the widgets work that way. Want to change what News shows? Which Stock prices are listed? Which Calendars are shown? Which city the Weather shows (when it works)? Want to edit the order of your widgets in a stack, or remove one? Long-press and edit.

I find the camera stops working, along with battery drain, causing the phone to freeze.

Annoyingly it happened after finding a gravestone of a relative, it was an important moment and when I took a photo, the phone died. It booted up and the camera wouldn't work. I restarted, the camera app launched but the display was black.

When I got home, the camera worked!

Roll on Beta 3!

And 90% of the user base will never, ever figure this out. I realize Apple can’t do long “how to” manuals for features. But it might be nice if, the first time you interact with a widget, it does a little animation to show users how to make this work. Just show it flipping, and then overlay that with a bullet or 2 describing how to make that happen. Same for other, less-discoverable features.

Yes - it’s one of the only instances of respring for me, when the VPN connection is active. But I don’t lose my connection, it just crashes the whole device which I guess is the same thing.

I expect this to be added to the photos widget to let us change what it picks from ☺️☺️

VPN has been perfectly fine for me. Sometimes I'm puzzled by the fact that some people have issues different to me and vice versa and not often having common issues.
 
Like others have noticed, there is a definite gap between my AW4 (6.2.8 Nike GPS) and my ProMax (db2)
Did some stair climbing and walking this morning and after 8 flights and 1/2 mile, my watch and phone both showed 8 flights however the AW showed 1181 steps while phone just showed 559 steps.

Something is wonky.

Well I have two AW Series 5 (wearing the LTE+GPS) both 6.2.8 and an iPhone 11 (also PB2) and when I go to the Activity app (after a 3.11 mile walk) they both show a total of 6,911 steps for the day and 3.4 mi. And they have been showing same numbers since I switched to PB2 and updated the two Watches (to 6.2.8 - didn't want to try WatchOS7)
