iOS 14 Beta 2 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Had a new one today.
Pro Max - Messages.
Going into Messages the screen would totally lock up allowing only a swipe to close Messages. Select, Scroll, Left/Right swipes, screenshot ... nothing worked.

Messages stayed locked until I did a reboot.
Interestingly I also has a Jetsam Event (crash) and Stacks+MobileSMS (incident) occur at the same time.

Will keep my eyes open for this.
Second time this week I have had the device lockup. Once in Mail and now in Messages.

...and that was my point. Not really an Apple based issue but more of “Facebook working with the beta” issue...and it’s only happened once.

I mean, I expect all that other stuff to happen during every beta...because it has!! But it hasn’t with iOS 14. One...ONE minor glitch.

I’ll take it!!

Thanks a lot. Today I went for another run and, again, the last km was missing.

I tried turning airplane mode on and off both on my phone and on the watch, but no luck :(
 
10xs max B2 when my phone is locked I don’t have sounds for notifications? Anyone else have this issues? Also I feels like sometimes the sounds on my phone is low and than I hear a pop and it goes back to normal volume?

XS Max PB2, no issues with notifications sounds, new siri voice messages sound very low, can barely hear them.
 
Anyone else experiencing burn in on iPhone XR? My music app symbol is in my bottom right corner on my app.

1. Anybody having issues with slow uploads to iCloud Photos?

2. My nightmode photos are terrible quality in this beta. Anyone else?

Thanks for highlighting this, it’s a showstopper bug for me that will keep me off the beta on my phone until resolved. I run every day! Will play with the beta on my iPad.

Anyone had any issues with the Music app crashing as soon as opened? I have restarted the phone and reset it but the issue persists. It was working find up until the point I opened up lyric view and since then, constant crashes.

I have had notifications sounds issues on my 11 Pro max since about the middle of the iOS 13 releases. iOS 14 doesn't seem to fix this. Add this to the way your sounds work when wearing your Apple Watch and notifications are basically broken for me.

But Hey, I fixed my Face ID problem by doing an erase and a restore.

Same primarily with Messages and non-default tones.
iOS 14 b1 fixed these however they are intermittently broken in b2. They only seem to work when I am actively in the device.
 
Anyone? Trouble sending pictures in a group text. 1 iPhone and 1 android user. Rebooted multiple times. Think it’s even happened on beta 1 for me. Any suggestions?

Not a problem I have ever heard of with an LCD screen. OLED yes but not LCD. But try asking in a hardware forum.
 
I like how iOS 14 shows what’s been passed in other apps but why does SiriusXM need Safari website or copied text?

If someone still has reboots. The solution is to turn off wifi and esim completely. Then the restarts stop. 5Ghz wifi networks are the main problem. At least that's how it looks for me.
 
The camera flash in iOS 14 is like night mode on the iPhone 11s, you can’t turn it on when you want it.

Is there a way to revert back to the old camera flash?

Never mind figured it out, you need to tap the arrow up top to change flash settings.

I don’t have esim, and it still happens with Wifi turned off, so that’s not it.
 
So I found something else that quite annoying. I can’t capture a video of it because I never know when it will happen. When watching videos on iPad Pro on YouTube or even sometimes the FB, the video will go into PIP and go to the main page of the YouTube channel. I back out of it then a few mins later it happens again. I’m not touching the iPad because I have it standing up in the case.
Anyone else ever see this happen?

Have you tried turning off place video on home Screen when swiping out of a app in PIP settings, see if that makes a difference.

Maybe I explained it wrong. Not PIP but you know in YouTube how you can put the screen in the corner and view the channel’s page? That. I don’t have YouTube red.

What you’re describing is PIP, regardless of whether you stay on that video’s page or not.
 
Anyone else experiencing issues with your VPN on the public beta? Probably about 5 or so times a day I have to reset my VPN because I lose connection.
