Got my "others" down to 2gb now by backing up and restoring to backup, did not take very long bit of a pain though.

Hello everybody i’m downloading the new beta of ios 14 and i’m asking if any of you has it how is it working? i really wanna know how it is working, any lags or failures that is good to know? what about battery performance , any storage issues? i have the version of 32 GB

I’m finding battery life to be terrible on beta 2! I took my phone off charger at 94% at 5pm not even 3hrs later of super light use and it’s at 57%

Not having any significant battery issues... my phone's been off the charger since 5:30 am (12 hours +) and I am at 77% charge remaining. But with that said, battery life always takes a hit with beta releases.

I’m going to let my phone die right down before charging it to see if that makes a difference. My brother also has a brand new XR and isn’t experiencing any issue.

You could have 1 or more apps that are hung and using a lot of resources. You may have apps that are not properly optimized,

No need to let the phone drain. The battery doesn’t need calibrating. Old batteries on old iPhones needed that; not yours.

Reboot. If rebooting doesn’t help, delete all apps that aren’t stock and then install 1 third party app at a time. Monitor battery DS usage before installing another app. This is a tedious approach but, you can find the problem app that way. If you don’t to do that much work, keep your phone close to a charger or revert back to iOS 13.

The first posts list « Volume Limit » being removed. Am I looking at the wrong thing or? Because under sound and haptics, I still have an « headphone audio » categorie with « reduce loud sounds » that I can configure.
11pro max under beta 2

That could do the trick... thanks for pointing it out.

I did this yesterday on my Mini 5 and 2nd gen 12.9 IPP. Mini went from 22 to 10 and IPP from 75 to 34, but it was at 10 last night. Jumped to 34 overnight. It is a 256GB model, though. I think the “others” gets bigger the more available space there is. My XR is a 128 model and others is very high (can’t say how high exactly because it’s been calculating the categories for 30 minutes).

Am I the only one having issues with incoming calls?

Today it showed I had an incoming call via Facebook Messenger, it showed both my wife's name and a local landline phone number. Answered the call but no one was there, called my wife and she hadn't called me at all. A few minutes later another call came in, again the phone said it was via Facebook Messenger and my wife's name was showed once again. This call couldn't be answered either. Wife confirmed she didn't call me.

Searched the forum/threat but couldn't find anything.

Here's one I have noticed on Beta 1 & Beta 2:

on iOS 13, when I would unplug my phone from my CarPlay Receiver, it would pause the music I was streaming. On the iOS 14 betas, it continues to play from the phone speakers.

If you have the phone volume all the way down, you won't notice until you look at the lock screen and hit the stop button.

I think this is what has been causing my battery drain. The streaming keeps playing without volume.

Is anyone having issues with Face ID? On my 11 Pro Max Face ID is spotty at best. Some time it works fine, some times not. It seems to be worse within apps than in the OS in General. I deleted my old face and made a new one, that seemed to help somewhat. It also seems to lag on a face unlock. Anyone seeing anything like that?
I'm afraid that it's hardware but it didn't do it until iOS 14 beta 1.

Doesn't happen for me.. iPhone XSmax

To date, I’ve had a few issues with both the iOS 14 Beta 1 & 2. Mainly 5-10 phone restarts daily, home screen widgets black (not loading), some apps not loading and shutting down, but running the background and the worst issue is Bluetooth connectivity. Bluetooth items will connect fine, but always disconnect after a few minutes and then go back and forth connecting and disconnecting until I just turn it off. If anyone has fixes for these things I’d love to try them. I’ve already deleted the Bluetooth items and reconnected them.

This early in the beta process it’s hard for us on our end to know why this will continue to happen, as beta builds have lots of logging and diagnostic files growing in the background that would then start building, indexing, and collecting more data again after a restore. The Feedback I filed for this issue after beta 1 (and again after b2) was released says this is a known issue with “More Than 10” people also reporting this. That’s Apple Speak for “yeah, we’re working on it”.

As for me, my “Other” storage has been hovering around 138GB since I initially put iOS 14 on my iPhone 11 Pro Max. My iPad Pro is at about 65GB of “Other”.

I would try a restore but due to another bug that also impacts “More Than 10” people where the Music app fails to download music offline, I’m holding off until beta 3 drops next week. Optimization of the OS doesn’t usually happen until way late in the game, too. So things like this should be expected throughout the beta testing process.

I haven’t had this issue.

On b2 I have "Raise to Wake" and have been noticing that the screen turns on a lot easier.
Pick up - Wake
Take out of pocket - Wake
Switch hands - Wake

Basically just moving the phone seems to wake it up.
Definitely a lot more sensitive.

Reported.
