I have done the common-sensical hard restart, reset and clean install. I SHOULD have indicated all of that, but thought it would have been understood that i did all of that before I posted...

Why would that be “understood”?

I’ve stayed out of the ios14 betas this time round. Having to much fun on iOS 13.5 jail broken.

but... I got to know, have they fixed Mail? Everyone, day in day out moaned about it in every build and beta I can remember of iOS 13.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣

EDIT: Sorry, couldn't resist! Have had issues with Mail since iOS13 b1..... It's better, but still have to wait for iCloud email to come in - up to 30 seconds. Strangely Exchange/O365 works well....

I had major issues with the Mail app all thru the iOS 13 betas up until whatever version when iOS 14 b1 came out. Beta 1 of iOS 14 fixed most of my Mail issues. If it’s the iCloud account that you’re also having issues with, try this:

Settings / iCloud / Turn off Mail. Do that first, and then turn off any other accounts you’ve got, just remove ‘em all. Then delete the Mail app and wait maybe 15-20 minutes, then reboot. Then reinstall Mail from the App Store and turn iCloud Mail back on, but don’t add any of your other accounts. Again, wait or go thru any folders and make sure everything is showing up to date. THEN go back and re-add any other accounts you had prior. That fixed my problems completely. Besides my iCloud account, I’ve got 3 Gmail accounts, an outlook.com account, a Yahoo account, and an older IMAP account. If there’s any delay it’s like 4-5 seconds or something. YMMV

What’s the functional difference between having a bunch of custom folders on a Home Screen, and the App Library? There is none.
I’ve submitted plenty of feedback asking for an option to turn Categories off with a toggle switch reverting to just list view. Similar to how the Apple Watch is. Category view is cool because you’ve got one page you can scroll up & down thru curated folders that expand. You can’t do any of that with folders. Which would be cool.

I’m also pretty sure app devs have to have their input as to how their apps are categorized, but since they can’t submit apps for iOS 14 yet, we’ll have to wait and see how accurate it is.

FaceID doesn't trigger and I have to reboot and eventually it will stop working again.

My first and only page is just like your first page, everything else is in the App Library and I’m loving it

The only problem I found with this is you can’t see any “Notification numbers” on the apps.

So if you keep WhatsApp in the library, and you get a message whilst your busy then you forget about it.

you don’t have that visual reminder on the screen with the notification number.

In settings there’s an option to turn on notification badges in the library. It’s in Settings > Home Screen. Still have to swipe over to see them in the library but at least it’s there.

Exposure notifications availability alerts still greyed out as "location services turned off" even though that's not the case.

I was fully prepared for that 😂

Actually, has anybody done that? Gone all in on hiding all apps in the App Library and just living that way? I find the categorization and recommended apps to not always be accurate, or at least what I’d be looking for. Would be great to have a way to just swipe to the whole list. I’m surprised after 8 betas that hasn’t gotten more traction.
I have the home page and then just the App Library page. I usually just swipe down from whatever screen I'm on and type the app name I'm after unless the app is on the home page.
same here. Just use spotlight.
